So it's getting shorter and shorter and is now down from my peak of 200 plus songs and 100 or so albums down to a neat top 50 of both (which is what i used to have for my singles lists for many years anyway). I don't devour the radio as much as then as you get older, your tastes tend to solidify into what you grew up on and things that sound like that - for me that's eighties synth pop with a touch of nineties alternative. The music charts and what is bought and streamed by the masses are no longer the exciting thing they were.
So......
HITS
50 Bring Me The Horizon - Throne
Fifteen years ago, heavy and alt rock was booming, now this is literally all that remains on my song list (there is rock above it but not of the strain i'm talking of). The electronic sequencing really elevates it.
ALBUMS
50 Pallbearer - Foundations Of Burden SPOTIFY
Doom / prog rock - song from it coming up.

49 Yukon Blonde - Como Great alt pop with a seventies feel that makes me feel happy.
ALBUMS
49 FKA Twigs - M3LL15X (MA) SPOTIFY
MA means Mini Album, before anyone asks! I won't call them EPs if they're not single length.

HITS
46 LeAnn Rimes - Joy (Medley: God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen / Angels We Have Heard On High / Hark! The Herald Angels Sing) This has only spent one week at #2 on my final chart of the year and here it is providing her with a shock entry on my 2015 top 50! A stunning arrangement of Christmas traditionals which she performed at the annual CMA Country Christmas show. She'll probably never grace my year-end again!
ALBUMS
46 Janet Devlin - December Daze (MA) SPOTIFY

HITS
45 Killing Joke - I Am The Virus As fierce as ever (don't believe the 9/11 conspiracy thing, though).
ALBUMS
45 Swiss Lips - Swiss Lips SPOTIFY Not quite the classic it should have been. Sickening how they are ignored and got so close to breaking.

HITS
44 Cam - Burning House / Runaway Train / My Mistake / Half Broke Heart (Welcome To Cam Country EP)
New country sensation. Burning House is a plaintive ballad about a lost relationship. All the songs ended up on her album which is to come.
ALBUMS
44 Bill Fay - Who Is The Sender? SPOTIFY Cult singer/songwriter who writes aching songs. Not as great as a couple of other albums which i discovered late and aren't eligible for the album list (i only include the year's releases whereas the Hits list is literally whatever was a hit on my chart that year).

Here's FKA Twigs' video album of the #49, BTW. For completeness' reasons. One song off it - In Time - didn't make the final 50.

43 Susanne Sundfor - Accelerate
Frenetic and neurotic and with a video to match (contains flashing imagery and nudity). Album is to come...
ALBUMS
43 The Standstills - From The Devil's Porch (MA) SPOTIFY
Rock duo like The White Stripes but more "metal".

HITS
42 Tame Impala - Yes, I'm Changing
Absolutely gorgeous synth ballad that is on UK alt radio right now and a great tune for Christmas. Fan video uses footage of Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks (song has brief strong language). There's no official video yet as the band just released one for a different song.
ALBUMS
42 Cut Ribbons - We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn SPOTIFY
Band that should be embraced by radio but are just a cult at present. Shades of Deacon Blue with an indie slant.

HITS
41 Charli XCX with Rita Ora - Doing It
Yes, it's a bit formulaic but a Spice Girls type formulaic beats any kind of 2015 styled formulaic. And Rita will never do anything better.
ALBUMS
41 Jean-Michel Jarre - Electronica 1: The Time Machine SPOTIFY
The legend takes us through a history of electronic music with a host of guests including Air, Tangerine Dream, Moby, Little Boots, Vince Clarke, John Carpenter and Laurie Anderson.

40 Pallbearer - Watcher In The Dark
Doom rock epic (gets going about 2 minutes in!). Was an unexpected #1 on my chart!

40 Disasterpeace - It Follows (OST) SPOTIFY
And the ghost of John Carpenter haunts this electronic score from a great horror film.

HITS
39 Selena Gomez - Good For You
So the album is dull but this slinky sexy number is great - along the same lines as Banks or The Weeknd (and Janet when she was good 20 years ago) and i'm amazed some people don't get this. Weirdly the video version was an early demo and the released version was with that crappy rapper i won't bother naming - i co-charted them both but quickly tired of the single version.
ALBUMS
39 Lil Dicky - Professional Rapper SPOTIFY
Great new comedy rapper - more on him in Hits list in a moment...

37 Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do
Great song. Sadly her album was a thudding disappointment as she's largely abandoned her old synth style for a more populist radio angle - Something In The Way You Move missed the 50.
ALBUMS
37 Torche - Restarter SPOTIFY
Alternative metal.

HITS
36 Purity Ring - Heartsigh
Video released in December and clear highlight of their Another Eternity album which isn't in my 50. They dropped the witch house style for more poppy material similar to Chvrches - and this is my current #2 song.
ALBUMS
36 Blancmange - Nil By Mouth SPOTIFY
So called because it's instrumental. Neil Arthur trading under the name while his partner copes with illness and the second Blancmange album of the year. The first one Semi Detached narrowly missed my 50.

34 The Prodigy with Sleaford Mods - Ibiza
This should have been the track to propel Jason Williamson / Sleaford Mods into the charts but radio bottled it and ignored it. Yes it has some swearing but Eamonn got playlisted among other sweary hits. Track is about glory-hunting DJs (David Guetta?).

33 Lil Dicky with Snoop Dogg - Professional Rapper
Strong language / adult content. Jewish David Burd was a YouTube comedian who accidentally became a professional rapper. After a mixtape this was his debut album and was lead by this GENIUS title track which is a fictional dialogue between Burd and prospective employer Snoop. Not only the best thing Snoop has ever done but the best example of intelligent rap since the early days of Eminem. His album stormed the Billboard chart thanks to PledgeMusic.
ALBUMS
33 Ryan Adams - 1989 SPOTIFY
Beats Taylor Swift by 22 positions - BUT in retrospect her original set would be top ten as i hadn't bought it then. An inspired Smiths-ish plaintive rock rework of already great lyrics - the most shining example still to come...

32 Coasts - Modern Love
The original version is a great slice of euphoric indie anthem but it's the remix that caused it to top my chart. Quite why Radio 1 didn't grab hold of this mix is beyond me.
