Wouldn't be surprised if Ben Edwards was kept on as well, given his past links to Channel 4 as a continuity announcer.

Not a stellar line-up of live races - Channel 4 are clearly determined to focus on the Sunday lunchtime slot.

Swap Spain for Monaco and they've got good live races. Belgium and Italy are musts along side Silverstone. They have the new circuit in Azer shame they haven't gone for Canada but almost as I'd pick.

Reports suggest that Kevin Magnussen is set to replace Pastor Maldonado at Renault for 2016. If it's true, then that can surely only be good news.

Maldonado was easily the worst driver in F1 last year, whilst Magnussen was very unlucky to lose his ride at McLaren. A good outcome for Renault who could be competing for 3rd/4th/5th place in the Championship now.

Interestingly, I read a little bit last week about the process of picking the live races, which I wasn't aware of before. Apparently, Channel 4 chooses 3 races first (one of which would obviously be the British GP, with Abu Dhabi also a dead cert), then Sky gets to pick 3 to show exclusively (Australia? Monaco?), then they take turns to pick until all the races are selected.

There was also a rule that neither channel could get 3 races in a row, which appears still to be in place. This weekend sees Round 4 of the Formula E season in Argentina. There are a couple of driver changes: Jacques Villeneuve and Nathanael Berthon have parted company with their teams, and have been replaced by Mike Conway and Salvador Duran respectively. Also, Nick Heidfeld returns after his injury.

Another good Formula E race, with Sebastien Buemi coming from last (after a spin in qualifying) to finish 2nd behind Sam Bird (who started on pole).

So Eddie Jordan is confirmed as part of the new Top Gear team and doesn't look to be going to Channel 4. Suzi Perry has confirmed she won't be on C4 either, leaving David Coulthard as the only confirmed member of the presentation team five weeks before the season starts...

Anyone seen Bernie's new idea for quali?

Yeah I've seen that. In my opinion, F1 has bigger problems than this. The quali format's been absolutely fine for the last 10 years, but I'm keeping an open mind.

Channel 4 have FINALLY revealed their line-up for 2016. Steve Jones takes over from Suzi Perry as lead anchor. DC, Ben Edwards, Lee McKenzie and Eddie Jordan all cross over from the BBC (despite EJ's involvement with Top Gear). Joining the team as part of a rotating team of pundits will be Mark Webber, Alain Prost and Susie Wolff. Karun Chandhok replaces Tom Clarkson as pit-lane reporter. Murray Walker and Bruno Senna will also be involved for special features during the season, while Jolyon Palmer will write a column for the web site.

I've never understood the appeal of Eddie Jordan. I know he is well connected, but he always seems to try so hard to be opinionated and controversial for the sake of it, rather than offering genuine insight.
Delighted Lee McKenzie has been retained / acquired.

Delighted Lee McKenzie has been retained / acquired. Thankfully, you won't see much of him (if you're watching on Channel 4). According to the web site, Webber and Wolff will be at "most" races, while Prost and Jordan will be at "some" races.

Not a fan of the new qualifying at all. Does anyone understand it because the teams dont seem to.

I understand it, but it's still horrible. There's too much emphasis on the countdown stopwatch before eliminations, which distracts from the on-track action, and there were zero cars on the track in the dying minutes because there was no point in them going out. It needs changing, immediately.
Apart from that, it was excellent.
