Could it be possible for a team to qualify with just 2 points ? I was thinking that after watching the Ireland game yesterday. Even if it is possible I can't see 2 pts being enough for Ireland with their goal difference.
On another note, good to see Gylfi Sigurdsson get off the mark yesterday Thought he had a good game, still not convinced that playing in the centre of a 4 man midfield suits him though. In that Iceland 4-4-2 system he has to do more defending, but I think he can struggle to get involved in a game when he plays there having seen him play in centre midfield in a 4-4-2 for Reading.

My England rankings so far:- 1. Walker 2. Rooney 3. Lallana last -1. Hart last. Sterling Walker and Rooney "rested" among others for tonight's game against the toughest team in our group I knew we were in trouble when Hodgson said he was in shock that Slovakia outplayed Russia, I was thinking is his eyes painted on, did he not see how awful Russia were after our game with them! well he underestimated them greatly then and he is doing so again now, if Slovakia hold us and Wales beat Russia we most likely play Portugal next round if they beat Hungary, if Slovakia beat us and Wales win we play most likely Germany, so no time to f*ck around

Vardy and Sturridge are obvious, and I thought Wilshere too, but don't understand why we're changing the full-backs and not resting Cahill with the yellow card in mind. Henderson did actually come to mind too but think I came to the conclusion that would be going a bit too far.

Maybe our tactics will be to play badly in the first half, and then throw on some decent players (including Rooney) at half-time. After all, whenever we do this (in Euro 2016), we win.

If England win and Wales avoid defeat tonight, then England, Wales, Germany, Poland, Croatia and Hungary will all qualify for the last 16.
The latter 4 all have four points and could possibly finish 3rd, but not bottom; the results I mentioned will mean that both Albania and Slovakia finish 3rd with 3 points, therefore 4 will be enough.

Russia are really one of the weakest sides here, they will need to improve by leaps and bounds in the next 2 years or they will go out at the group stages at their own world cup.

Spend most their time brawling to practice playing football
Nice to see Wales winning so comfortably and not a Bale goal or assist in sight

Good first half for England. Midfield playing very well - lots of great passing, and tracking back well too.

Russia 0 Wales 3! Yes!
Now we need England to score so we can end up top of the table. We've had most of the possession but we never look much like scoring. Though fair credit to Slovakia, they are defending really well.

If only we had the best header of a football sat at home watching us flop
So out of Russia, Wales and Slovakia we beat one with a 93rd minute scramble
Portugal next round maybe?

Great for Wales - quality performance. I thought England were terrible - never looked like scoring and all the set pieces were a mess. We will have no chance against better sides.

We didn't look that good, but we had most of the ball possession, if only they found the net to top the group. Hey ho that's football, at least we are through to the last 16, probably against Portugal or Hungary, I do fancy Hungary and I probably chuck in Iceland into the mix.

England in this tournament much like having sex after a few drinks.
On top, plugging away admirably, but just cannot finish the job as we struggle to reach a semi

So England finish 2nd, behind the only team that they beat, with Russia finishing bottom of the group. Just like Greece in 2004...
