The Creases - Impact
'Impact' is the latest single from Brisbane band The Creases, singer-guitarist Joe Agius explains how Brtipop helped bring the new tune to fruition.
"I wrote the foundation of 'Impact' while staying down on my dad's farm last year after a lot of heavy listening to early 90s UK acts such as Happy Mondays and Blur."
"The song talks about the struggles to keep a balanced lifestyle and relationship with people, work and sleep when everything you do creatively requires you to be unbalanced."

Captain Casanova - Futures
Keeping with the ’90s revival sound we have Danish rockers Captain Casanova and their new single “Futures,” but this one is a nod to the more scuzzy, grungy sounds of Nirvana, The Aarhus based three piece say “The song is written as an explanation and a goodbye to the son of my former girlfriend,” explains guitarist and singer Rasmus Bredvig. “It’s also a song about the frustration of loosing and not wanting to loose that naïve point of view where you think something will last forever.”
Rumour has it that there may be more recorded material to surface in the next few months before they head out back on the road again in October

Cardboard Kids - Struggle
Today I have a real treat for you with Nashville rock outfit Cardboard Kids, they bring influences from their upbringing in 90′s rock and R&B as well as their love for gritty 60′s blues tunes. Vibe and Honey made my Top 400 of 2015 and this is the first single from the upcoming EP, MINT

This is useful as they have real videos. Captain Casanova was on my playlist last week but looks set to miss out.

Yeah they will mostly be real videos unless there is a great song I come across that hasn't got one yet. All relatively new releases too

For The Girl - Where Did Time Go
Indie Pop Rock five piece from Nottingham with a heavier sound than most modern indie pop bands doing the rounds at the moment, Where Did Time Go is a great taster for what to expect with their EP, “Shark Attack” is due for release in July

I haven't listened yet but if it's on the heavier side I'm less likely to like it. I like the lighter pop side. The brit-poppy stuff.

It ain't really heavy at all in a rock sense , it's same level as bands like Blur and Supergrass

The brit-poppy stuff. oh, its not heavy heavy, I would say more 80s synth pop with extra guitars, bass that stands out and a proper guitar solo, but a lot of indie pop these days seems very very poppy, maybe I should've described it as more on the rockier side of indie pop

High Learys - Cabinet
Trying to keep these to two a day as not to overwhelm, next up is another Australian band, this time from Perth, The High Learys came to my attention back in 2013 when they released their debut album "Here Come The High Learys". It couldn't sound anymore 60's, give it a whirl, its only about 24 minutes long. Anyway they are back with a more modern 90's sound and recently hit #5 in my chart with Cabinet

I sometimes wonder what the best way actually is to get people to listen to the music I like. I now post my chart on buzzjack just every 3rd week, the one in which I have a video show. I only post the top 40 and I post a link to the video show.
It was noticed that my video show viewer count went up significantly on the first week I did that. You get a view though even if someone searches for a video, gets a result from your playlist and plays it from there. So having one popular song on your playlist will lead to getting lots of hits.
I will give these listens as it's a possible way to find extra songs for my playlist that don't turn up in the normal search. I wish there were an easier way than my normal method, but that's how I found pretty much all my recent big hits except Sonic Boom Six, Manics and Helen Love, that I probably would have found anyway.

Well the way I do it is I just search every day, best new source is this imvdb.com/calendar/2016/06 but also check Vevo premieres, Digital Spy and just do random searches. I find spending 15-20 mins every day on this is better than spending a whole evening on it like I used to. Also it means that most new videos get added to my new release playlists within 24 hours of release. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfX9VEevrBKy9pWZcVACXHLfJ9zZVkgaKwill add a couple of these to this

Creases is one of those that falls through my net because they take far too long to put up their video. Song added to spotify 4th May but video only last week.
For The Girl was actually on my playlist last week. And also failed to chart in a week where more did chart than not.
I went to add Cardboard Kids then found I'd already added it this week.

The Lapelles - Grab Life By
These 5 lads from East Kilbride in Scotland seem to be making waves and recently bagged tour slots with the likes of Blossoms, The Last Shadow Puppets, Lisbon, The View and The Kooks, full of youthful swagger and not too dissimilar to early Catfish and The Bottlemen

White Room - Think Too Much
Brighton psych rockers White Room have revealed their new video for single 'Think Too Much'.
The track, produced by Theo Verney and released on June 10, shows the five-piece pulling out all the stops with a rousing part Britpop, part psychedelia outing with resonant drums and raucous vocal distortion from Jake Smallwood lending a 70s retro feel. Sounds like a cross between Temples and The Corals new album
