It has been a brilliant Olympic Games for Team GB; and hugely enjoyable and inspiring to watch, with too many highlights to mention, it is far easier to think about the negatives.....
So it's a pity about all the empty seats; the IOC wimping out on banning Russia; the unsporting partizan booing of rival opponents of Brazilians (especially the booing of the French Pole Vaulter); Ryan Lochte & his "bros" antics; and the cost cutting which will hurt the Para-Olympics in two weeks time.
Oh and the miserable left wing Corbynistas whingeing about all that lottery money should have been spent on the NHS; and the "I'm not racist but.." Brexit voting Daily Heil readers slagging off the Somalia born athlete who came to this country as an 8 year old who has done the long distance double double as not being British ... can go and F.O.

Thank you Panda for your colourful, accurate and interesting daily updates. Unlike raliverpool, I'm not going to list the negatives, as they were far fewer and less significant than all the doom-mongers had predicted. (And I liked the green diving pool). My Top 5 positives:- - GB winning medals in so many sports - GB proving that a modest investment can result in so much success, when put in the hands of smart, ambitious people - GB proving that the marginal gains philosophy - i.e. focussing on every aspect of the athlete and their performance - will ultimately beat pumping an athlete full of drugs - Rio providing the most beautiful Olympics ever - The BBC for providing such informative, comprehensive coverage throughout, including the variety of catch-up services and ability to select the most obscure events, if that's what tickles your fancy
