The trouble is there will be children involved. As a result, honest critique will be few and far between because you can't possibly tell a child that their pile of slop isn't very nice. It will become very "well done for the effort, have a gold star" rather than "Your pastry is too thick, it's undercooked, and all your filling has fallen out".
It's exactly the reason I hate there being children on things like Britain's Got Talent.

Oh just stick them in a marquee somewhere and call it something else! I guess the world will end with the final tonight? Predictions for winners? Candice, the ginger, or the old(ish) woman? I think it'll probably be Jane. In my opinion she seems to have been over-marked the entire way through, going all the way back to week one where Selasi seemed dead cert for star baker but for some reason Jane was awarded it. Candice will probably try to do something absolutely amazing, and it'll end up an underbaked mess, while Andrew's been hit and miss the entire way through, really, and it's only because Benjamina and Selasi had poor weeks for the last fortnight that he's made it this far.

To be honest out of the remaining 3 I rather have Candice she has been rather consistent lately, Jane and Andrew have made a few mistakes. And I still can't get over the week Jane was Star Baker when Candice was the only person who put the syrup on that sponge.

Andrew has generally done well in the last few weeks, ever since he scraped through one week by the skin of his teeth. Logically, it should be between him and Candice but past performance counts for nothing.

I'm hoping Candice takes this. Andrew is lucky to have made it this far and Jane has had a few catastrophes too and she's not that likeable

Unless I've forgotten one, there's only been one week where Andrew was exceptionally lucky to survive. He wasn't great in some of the early weeks, but wasn't in real danger of going out.

I think he's been more lucky to have won star baker last week then, Candice was robbed in my opinion. Had she won last week it would have taken her to 4 wins.

So Candice won, and Andrew suffered from a soggy bottom disaster in the final bake, just when visually his bakes looked the best ... the last GBBO on the BBC was watched by an average of 14.2 million peaking at 14.8 million.
That is 9 million more than the number of people who watched X-Factor on Saturday in real time (minus +1), and 4.5 million more than who watched SCD.

It was the right decision. I'm glad.
I started to get irate at the TV during the marking of the meringue crown challenge though, as once again, Jane was praised for her crown being nice and solid and structurally secure, when the bottom layer was clearly cracking all the way round.

Sandi Toksvig, food writer Prue Leith and comedian Noel Fielding will join Paul Hollywood when The Great British Bake Off returns in the autumn.
Channel 4 announced the show's new line-up ahead of its first series since leaving the BBC.
"I could not be more delighted by who will be joining me on the show," said Hollywood, the only holdover from the BBC's version.
Leith said she was "so thrilled to be joining... the biggest show on TV".
"I cannot wait to see what the real stars of the show - the bakers - are going to create for us," the restaurateur and novelist went on.
The 77-year-old had previously revealed she would "love" to take over from Mary Berry as a judge on the baking competition.
"It is an extraordinary honour to part of this national treasure of a show," said Toksvig, who will co-present the show with The Mighty Boosh's Fielding.
Fielding himself said Bake Off was "one of his favourite shows" and that landing the job was "a dream come true".
Channel 4's Jay Hunt said Leith and Hollywood had "huge amounts of expertise", while Toksvig and Fielding would bring "plenty of fun and warmth".
"It's just the sort of innovative line-up audiences expect from Channel 4," the channel's chief creative officer continued.

It's like they deliberately went for the most random combination of presenters they could think of. Or picked two names out of a hat.
For all I know it could turn out to be an inspired, brilliant pairing but I somehow can't see it.

I know it's just an image, but I'm really not a fan! As the old saying goes: "The proof will be in the pudding". However, I agree.

The BBC is moving its new cooking show to avoid a clash with The Great British Bake Off when it launches on Channel 4.
Channel 4 has poached Bake Off from the BBC and has scheduled the new series to open at 20:00 BST on Tuesday 29 August.
The Big Family Cooking Showdown is on BBC Two at the same time on Tuesdays - but it will now move to Thursdays.
The BBC said Channel 4's choice to move Bake Off from its previous Wednesday slot would be a "surprise" for viewers who "may see this as a cynical move".
However, Channel 4 said: "We made the decision about where to schedule The Great British Bake Off a few months after acquiring it and we haven't moved it since then.
"It is in the original Tuesday evening slot where the majority of past series have played."
Bake Off has been shown on Wednesdays for the past three years, but was on Tuesdays from 2010-2013.
