I'm going through my dads old singles and albums, and will post lists up for both. Are they likely to have any value at all? Having had a quick look through, there are Elvis singles from the 60s and Beatles singles from the same period, but I guess they sold loads of them so they have no value despite being 50 years old? If anyone is interested in anything I post up, just message me or reply in the thread. At the end of the day if I can't sell or pass them on, they're going to my local record shop, if he wants them, or to a charity shop.

I had several CD singles at one point that had value as they were rare early releases by bands who became big later. I never sold any of them and they're probably worth little now.
The big hits themselves are probably worth relatively little.

A few of those reached #1 in my retro chart. Marv Johnson very early on. See how much that one is selling for on ebay

I think at the end of the day they are only worth as much as someone will pay for them.
Some singles are ridiculous in price on ebay and will never ever get sold. The pricing guide in reality has gone backwards on some items.
David Bowie stuff now will be silly prices but only if mint condition, mint covers.
Majority of the 60s stuff may sell for £5 or less depending on condition and also depending on how common the single was in the first place for example a million seller.

Likewise if anyone wants any of them on here, I'm willing to pass them on. Cheers Mic, I agree about silly prices things are at, but not actually selling.

Beatles apart, they don't seem to be very collectible artists. And with The Beatles there are literally millions of each single floating around. It's the oddities that are akin to errors on stamps that are the ones people want. Like the Yesterday And Today butcher cover or Rubber Soul with "Norwegian Wood" mis-spelt on the label (there were about a thousand of those).

Cheers Vas, I dont know if they're collectible or not, my dad just bought them or got them from the jukebox in his stepdad's pub. I'll do the albums next as they show a nice eclectic mix. Still loads of boxes of singles to do though. Hard work when you dont know what the A side is, and it doesn't say

Managed to pass them on to a local shop who is also online, and we do a 50/50 split on any sold, as he's storing them, and doing the online stuff, and I'm providing him with them to sell. Hopefully we can get a bit of money for some of them. He was impressed they had sleeves Also, I noticed a Beatles For Sale Mono album for sale at £30!

Just taken in two more boxes of albums ranging from old Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison Elvis Presley and Jim Reeves albums to Rod Stewart and others. Got to have a look at what he'd sold so far and for what prices and we've made over £25 each so far. A Gene Vincent single went for £15 and The Who - Substitute (jukebox version) was sold for £16 as well, very surprised to have made so much money already.

None of my grandads/dad's old vinyl singles have any sleaves. Guess it's a space issue and they probably had no intention of selling them on

That is insane Andy £16 for a jukebox record that is super well known and probably not even rare, some people have too much money to throw about hehe

Yeah, thank goodness for online sales! And Daz, he did mention how impressed he was that all my dads stuff had sleeves, he said he gets an awful lot without them, and so they are worth even less.

Just been in and collected £50, which means sales of £100 so far at least, he's a bit vague...But what I did notice was a Beatles LP he had listed for £650! So I emailed him about that, and he says it's on ebay I think, Please Please Me, the only version of that worth anyway, is the black and gold parlophone label? Wish I'd noticed, I'd have sold it for £400 and be done with it.
