This is my special Christmas related thread.
I will represent all singles, which were my # 1s at Christmas week. From 1952 to 2014. So it's like the alternative of the official # 1s in UK.
My retrospective charts mostly based on UK charts, so only some my # 1s weren't represented in the official UK Top 40.
Will I have any shared Christmas # 1s with UK ? Will you prefer any my choice over the real # 1 hit ?
Also you can try to predict any my # 1s. It's not impossible, especially if you will look in some last official charts of any year.
Let the show begin !!!

Of course you only have female vocalists at #1.
My only years I had a solo female vocalist as Christmas #1 have been 1989 and 1990 with Madonna and 2013 with Tich. Connie Francis was my #1 just after Christmas in 1962 and may be yours.

Which song from Tich was your Christmas # 1 ? Mixed genders groups and duets are also legal for my chart. Love On Christmas Eve was my #1 at Christmas 2013. Another female singer, Leona Lewis was actually #3 that week in my chart. Breathe In Breathe Out, the original version (well the version with strings) from Candlelight EP was my first #1 of 2013. I first encountered Tich in Hyde Park where the Jive Aces were performing for the diamond jubilee in 2012. As for duos... well there is a certain Christmas song featuring Kirsty MacColl that was my Christmas #1 twice. Also the Beautiful South with Jacqui Abbott on vocals in 1996. (And the Cranebuilders in 2004 but that's far too indie for you)

1957
My # 1 :
Carol Richards & Bing Crosby - Silver Bells (# 1 debut)
UK # 1 :
Harry Belafonte - Mary's Boy Child
Carol Richards was an American singer, radio and television performer.
Her duet with a legendary Bing Crosby "Silver Bells" won a battle for my Christmas # 1 against many good songs, include the previous chart topper (Petula Clark - Alone).
The song charted in the United Kingdom for the first time in 2009 when a duet by Sir Terry Wogan and Aled Jones recorded for charity peaking at # 27.

1960
My # 1 :
Joan Regan - One Of The Lucky Ones (5th week at # 1)
UK # 1 :
Cliff Richard and The Shadows - I Love You
After the ultimate success of "Happy Anniversary" Joan Regan got another huge # 1 hit in 1960 "One Of The Lucky Ones" (UK # 47).
She became the second singer (after Rosemary Clooney) with two Christmas # 1s in my chart.

1961
My # 1 :
Patsy Ann Noble - Good Looking Boy (6th week at # 1)
UK # 1 :
Danny Williams - Moon River
Patsy Ann Noble is an Australian singer and actress. In November 1961, she released her biggest hit single, "Good Looking Boy", which reached Top 10 in Australia.
She was only 17 years and 10 months old at Christmas 1961, so Patsy has a good chance for "the most youngest artist with a Christmas # 1" achievement.

1963
My # 1 :
Dora Bryan - All I Want For Christmas Is A Beatle (Debut at # 1)
UK # 1 :
Beatles - I Want To Hold Your Hand
In the end of 1963 year The Beatles were everywhere, so it wasn't a surprise when English actress Dora Bryan recorded the Christmas song "All I want for Christmas is a Beatle" with funny Beatles-related lyrics :
"I want it for Christmas it's a real live little boy. All I want for Christmas is a Beatle. Not a teddy bear, just a Beatle. I told mum nothing else would do. There are four, so she can have one too. I don't care which ever one she gets me. Ringo, Paul, John, George, they're all the same. I can't wait for Christmas day to come 'Cause all I want for Christmas is a Beatle".
The single reached top 20 in UK on Christmas week.

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree was recorded in the autumn of 1958 when Brenda Lee was only 13. It didn't reach the US chart until 1960, having now broken through with "I'm Sorry". It was a minor US hit but not a UK hit that year. In my chart it was Christmas #1 of 1960.
In 1962 it reached #6 in the UK but I didn't chart it again. Connie Francis was my #1 for one week just after Christmas, Elvis was just before and Cliff Richard was actually my Christmas #1 in 1962 with "Bachelor Boy". Maureen Evans reached #2 in my chart and the Allan Sherman interpretation of the same classical tune went one better a few months later.

Dora Bryan's song is awful and the Beatles were my Christmas #1 too and far better.
My #1 the week before Christmas and #2 on Christmas week in 1963 was "I Only Want To Be With You" by Dusty Springfield.
