Retro Chart Run: 8-3-4-6-15-25-31-33-40 (9 weeks) Official Chart Peak: 46 (1984) Despite not picking up any points from four charts, this song went Top 3 on the Retro Chart mainly thanks to Andy and Shireb. It's My Life was a big chart-topper for both of them, 3 weeks for Shireb and 5 weeks for Andy. Amazed that this took three attempts to finally break the UK Top 40! All Cried Out would have been a huge, huge hit in my chart if I'd taken part.

I know you're a big fan of Diana Ross, but I'm not that keen tbh although Swept Away was one of the discoveries of the year for me! I might chart an album track at Christmas but otherwise stick to singles which have been released in the UK otherwise I would also have charted Swept Away, very possibly at #1. I know territories outside the US released Touch By Touch as the lead single from the Swept away album but given it was a US top 20 hit and the Daryl Hall connection it's mystifying why SA was never released in the UK.

I see the commentaries with the songs have gone. I did actually chart "It's My Life" by Talk Talk in 1990 when it peaked at #3 in my chart.

"Like A Virgin" is my favourite single of 1984. How high she could be with my additional 120 points for 6 weeks at # 1 ?
No Doubt' cover version of "It's My Life", peaked at # 1 in my chart.
