Based on the success of 80s Haven Combi Retrochart I want to start the same chart game, but for 70s decade (with 1976 or 1977 as the first chosen year).
So I want to know your opinion.

I'd rather it started in the 1960s where I already have them compiled.

Maybe I'm not really a fan of 70s pop music pre 77 but I could probably manage something.1979 was a great year so be good to do that at some point

I'm interested, but if you running it for the 1970s then you might as well start it in 1970.
In fact I'd even suggest going back to January 1967 (50 years ago).

I would suggest opening a poll to find out what people would be up for?

January 1967 is just where I am now on my playlists. So would be a good place to start.
My posted charts should hit there around next week.
So yes, I'd be very interested in starting there but it would obviously be hard to go back and I think many would prefer starting in 1963 so we get more of the Beatles hits, or perhaps January 1964 when TOTP started and we are really into Beatlemania.

1. The poll was added. 2. You can select any number of options in the poll, even can vote for all possible years. 3. There is a small chance for having two additional charts, if any 60s chart will get enough votes.
Please hurry and vote !!! Because I want to start it as soon as possible (Let's say January, 10 and we will vote for the first two weeks of the selected year).

A lot of it is about the effort of doing this, and listening to the songs from the year especially if it's a bit before your time and you're not familiar with all of them. 1963 or 1967 would be easy for me as the former is already compiled. I can compile the 1967 ones pretty quickly too. We may hook rubcale into a 1963 start, with Cliff Richard having big hits at the time. (She may want to start in 1959!) 1979 is the year that my chart started with its best ever run of #1s. The first 5 of that year are all total classics. It is, of course, also the winter of discontent, and we were also frozen over. 1963 is also supposed to be the coldest winter on record, although I wasn't born yet.

The hardest thing in creating of any personal retrospective chart it's obviously the start (the first chart). When you need to listen new entries from many last charts of the previous year.
If retro chart is old enough the another problem is the flopped singles of your favourites. The official UK chart had only 30-40-50 positions instead top 75-100 and many singles didn't reach the chart.
Honestly I don't know any good lists with them. In the most cases you need to check Discogs/Wikipedia/45cat for every needed artist.

I'd just pick out the songs I know which is why it might only be a top 10, for whatever year we decide to start on.

UKmix has six parallel retro combined charts from each decade (50-60-70-80-90-00). Retro charts have a very long story on UKMix forum. Enough of UK Mix. This is Haven.

I voted for 1967. I should know enough songs from then to be able to make a chart.

Very unpredictable leader, but your vote can change everything.

What a great chart. I own somewhere between 20 and 30 of those tracks. I'll have no problem doing a Top 20, but a big problem deciding what should be #1.
