You haven't posted the deadline but assuming you give us a week, I am 5 charts away from this week so will make it if I can keep posting.
I'd suggest you may even give a bit longer for the first chart.

I'd suggest you may even give a bit longer for the first chart. Or maybe you make a small adjustment, to align with the rest of us ?

I'd suggest you may even give a bit longer for the first chart. Or maybe you make a small adjustment, to align with the rest of us ? Some people are going to try and make a chart when they only know a few 60s songs so I think you already have an advantage Neil as you have a chart already going. I have already learned in 1 minute one of my favourite 60s songs is 'Sunshine Superman' by Donovan, I have heard of the song but i never knew it was that song it used to get played at our indie discos when I djed in the 90s!!!

I might try and give this a go. I recognise a lot more on that chart than I thought I ever would, there are some classics on that list. Will try and post a Top 10!

I will try and listen to a couple each week (time permitting) and see if I can find a few forgotten (by me) gems.

Turnover was quite low in the 60s, so you'll only have to listen to a few new entries each week (once you've caught up with the initial Top 50).

"Sunshine Superman" has already come and gone in my chart and the follow-up "Mellow Yellow" is actually #1 for its first week on 3rd December 1966 and probably won't be by 7th January although it may still be in the chart.

OK I've listened to all of these songs now and am confident enough to put them into a chart. I've taken into account the amount of weeks they've spent in the chart, so 'Reach out I'll be there' by The Four Tops has fallen out after 13 weeks but would've been a dead cert #1 during it's chart run.
I've included songs from the US, Canadian and Australian charts (via the links given), but only songs I already knew (as there would have been too many to listen to) and only where they weren't hits in the UK at all.
Here goes:
01. Donovan - Sunshine Superman (5 WEEKS) 02. The Kinks - Dead End Street (7 WEEKS) 03. Diana Ross & The Supremes - You Keep Me Hanging on (6 WEEKS) 04. Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - I'm Ready For Love (6 WEEKS) 05. Roy Orbison - There Won't Be Many Coming Home (6 WEEKS) 06. The Seekers - Morningtown Ride (7 WEEKS) 07. Frank Sinatra - That's Life (4 WEEKS) 08. Tom Jones - Green, Green Grass Of Home (9 WEEKS) 09. Cream - I Feel Free (4 WEEKS) 10. Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich - Save Me (5 WEEKS)
11. Gene Pitney - Just One Smile (9 WEEKS) 12. Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders - Pamela Pamela (5 WEEKS) 13. Bachelors - Walk With Faith In Your Heart (6 WEEKS) 14. Stevie Wonder - A Place In The Sun (NEW ENTRY) 15. Beach Boys - Good Vibrations (10 WEEKS) 16. Georgie Fame - Sitting In The Park (3 WEEKS) 17. Wilson Pickett - Mustang Sally (4 WEEKS) 18. Petula Clark - Colour My World (9 WEEKS) 19. The Easybeats - Friday On My Mind (11 WEEKS) 20. The Troggs - Any Way That You Want Me (4 WEEKS)
21. The Who - Happy Jack (4 WEEKS) 22. Dean Martin - (Open The Door) Let The Good Times In (6 WEEKS) 23. Small Faces - My Mind's Eye (8 WEEKS) 24. Walker Brothers - Deadlier Than The Male (4 WEEKS) 25. Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - Come Round Here (I'm The One You Need) (3 WEEKS) 26. Jimmy Ruffin - What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted (11 WEEKS) 27. Herman's Hermits - East West (6 WEEKS) 28. Cliff Richard & The Shadows - In The Country (4 WEEKS) 29. Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin' (10 WEEKS) 30. The Temptations - (I Know) I'm Losing You (4 WEEKS)
31. Lovin' Spoonful - Nashville Cats (NEW ENTRY) 32. The Monkees - (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone (8 WEEKS) 33. Neil Diamond - I Got The Feeling (9 WEEKS) 34. The Move - Night Of Fear (NEW ENTRY) 35. Tim Hardin - Hang On To A Dream (NEW ENTRY) 36. Otis Redding - Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song) (7 WEEKS) 37. The Monkees - I'm A Believer (NEW ENTRY) 38. Sandy Posey - Single Girl (NEW ENTRY) 39. Righteous Brothers - Island In The Sun (3 WEEKS) 40. Bee Gees - Spicks & Specks (12 WEEKS)

Perhaps you should also tag in anyone who currently posts regularly to the 1980s retro chart. I'm sure rubcale at least will want to join in with this.

I thought with Cliff Richard being in the chart and also the various Motown hits you'd really be up for this.
