Yes very The 1975 but I also thinks it sounds like Mystery Jets, their is a hook halfway through which is almost identical to the Laura Marling part in 'Young Love'

21/04/2017 Hurts - Beautiful Ones
Theo & Adam (whom lets face it were much better at ripping off the 1980s than the grotesquely overrated overhyped brats The 1975 are, but whom got none of the acclaim they should have) return with this quite brilliant single (which had it been a brand new single by Ed Sheeran or Justin Bieber then Radio 1 would be masturbating all over it instead of snubbing it) with a superb message, matched by the powerful & moving backwards storytelling video (starring Theo as a transgender), taken from their as yet untitled 4th album due for release later in 2017.

I love Hurts but as usual I need to defend Radio 1 as they were the only station that played Hurts for a very long time . Zane Lowe was the lone supporter for 'Wonderful Life' and them for Months possibly years . It will never ever be matched , this though is a bit of a return to form if a bit identikit
As for snubbing this I didn't even know about it till 7 this morning so they could still playlist it , it wasn't really expected but tbh I think they would be more at home on Radio 2 now anyway

Radio neglects 90% of the music I like so it isn't headline news, I don't listen to the radio now anyway, luckily Spotify is doing gods work recommending me songs like this from bands I have listened too

26/04/2017 My Vitriol - Rest Your Tired Head
I heard Steve Lamacq play this on his late afternoon Radio 6 Music show whilst driving home today. The London shoegazers are back after reforming and a decade long hiatus. This is taken from their Pledge Music album The Secret Sessions recorded between 2014 & 2016.

27/04/2017 Haim - Right Now
Returning after nearly 4 years away with a second album, Something To Tell You pencilled in for a July release. If their debut album Days Are Gone was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album, then this very different brooding, slow burning, intense new track has a very 21st Century Tusk album feel to it. Oh and the video is directed by the brilliant Paul Thomas Anderson. All in all this is a very pleasant a surprise. The very opposite of Lorde's sophomore comeback was a "she's sold out" disappointment...

29/04/2017 Kele Okereke - Yemaya
The Bloc Party front man goes all introspective moody acoustic folk on atmospheric Nick Drake sounding track. Stunning. It is not yet clear whether it is taken from a forthcoming third solo album or not.

30/04/2017 Rebecca Black - Foolish
What do we have here? This is a low key very catchy, but not gimmicky, contemporary sounding bop, which sounds like a great record someone like Selena Gomez would make. Little wonder the most liked (with nearly 500) comment for this track on youtube is "Better than Katy's new song".

Sonya Madan's Britpop band wanted to do great things, but less than a decade later they hit the kerb and disbanded. But they and their atmospheric swagger are back with their first new material in 15 & a half years taken from their forthcoming sixth studio album: Anarchy & Alchemy.

04/05/2017 Tom Adams - Come On Dreamer
Posh kid (boo) from Cambridge, goes to Berlin on a year out from further education (OK yah my own Bowie Berlin period, how marvelous), and is due to release his debut album "Silence" on Friday. From it is this stunning, stunning, haunting track, which deserves to be massive and is miles better than your Ed's or Sam's could manage.
