HAVEN COMBI RETRO-CHART FOR W/B 6th JANUARY 1985

Foreigner extend their lead at the top of the chart to a second week, with a huge 50 point margin as I Want To Know What Love Is features in the Top Ten of 10 individual charts, topping four of them.





Madonna jumps back up to her original peak of number two on her ninth week on the chart with Like A Virgin, one of a number of songs rebounding in the new year.


Strawberry Switchblade’s Since Yesterday finally makes the Top Ten as it leaps to number 4 on its eleventh week on the chart.

Kirsty MacColl is this week’s highest new entry as she makes her Retro Chart debut with A New England, in at number 11.


This week’s biggest climber is Solid from Ashford and Simpson, up 18 places to number 12.

Have just noticed that Prince is charting with a double A side, 1999 and Little Red Corvette, both of which have already charted on here separately over the last couple of years.

Suggest we take the same approach as we did with recent Wham and Depeche Mode A-sides, ie the points get split between the two sings if you chart as a double A side, points allocated in full if you want to chart either song or even both separately.
