Beach Boys top my chart for the first time since 1976, when Good Vibrations did it on reissue, and Hall & Oates go higher than first-time round at 2. Modern Talking hit 4. I'm rather surprised to see Frankie at 7, I guess we all went mad for 6 weeks in the summer, I have no excuses as it's very very annoying these days. Big climbs for Paul Young and Dead Or Alive, and a massive new entry for Bucks Fizz - huge flop at the time, and one of their very best records, go figure. 

Don Henley's fab Dirty Laundry gets a better chart run 2nd time around, in at 28, and another goodie from The Adventures, ever under-rated. Punk veterans The Damned return with an actual hit, and The Cult classic enters quietly, for now, as does the very famous fab Eurythmics future chart-topper. Meanwhile the 1985-reissue-flop theme continues with Billy Idol's brilliant White Wedding finally becoming the hit it richly deserved, and sneaking in my chart.
