We do however get a change at the top as the Eurythmics fly up there, the first time they've ever topped this chart. The song also leaps in the UK chart from 37 to 10 this week so it will be a big hit after all for them.
That they're not on the line-up for Live Aid may be an issue though, as many artists on there are playing their latest songs which could boost them in the charts in the next few weeks.

w/e 16th July 1985
3 weeks on top for The Beach Boys, Eurythmics rocket to 4, The Damned go top 10 for the first time, Sparks enter high at 20 after a gap of 5 years, and 11 years of hits in my charts, Adam Ant has a big climber into the 20 just as he is about to plug it on his one song at Live Aid. Billy Idol rockets into the 40, at long last, and new tracks from Carl Anderson (who? The awesome vocalist from the movie of Jesus Christ Superstar, he played the showstopping Judas), Tina Turner doing a fab Mad Max song, Aretha Franklin joining the 60's soul diva comebacks, and Animal Nightlife following up.
