Spurs will also be playing a lot of reserves. However for West Ham they are not in Europe and should be looking to win cups.

No chance with Palace at the weekend who already rested all their first team, ask Wigan how winning a trophy and subsequent double relegation feels

I think its harsh, they have played Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs, 5 teams that finished above them last season even with Lukaku, they have much more money, better squads and are simply better than them even WITH Lukaku Out of the winnable games they have only played Stoke, Bournemouth, Brighton and Burnley and won 2, drew 1, lost 1 and beat a cchampionship team 3-0 in the cup A new manager cant magic a 6'4 30 goal a season striker out of thin air and that's their problem, that and the players haven't gelled yet and brining in in a new regime will reset that back to square one Meanwhile Bilic is getting beat 3-0 by newly promoted teams and has been in this kind of form for 18 month and keeps his job, wish their owners had a bit of bottle I had similar thoughts about Leicester - they also had a tough run, having already played Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea (+ maybe another tough game?) before getting rid of Shakespeare.

Ignoring the fact we were 2 down again it was a very good result. Just show what the team can do when up for a game. Problem is we don't play spurs every week and one good result every 6 month isnt enough. We need to follow it up by beating Palace at the weekend because we haven't played most of the top 6 yet so December is tough.

You don't play them every week but when you did in the league you also made a comeback but from 0-3 to 2-3 so you still took nothing.
You can't expect to come back from deficits all the time. I recall at Southampton you also came back then lost?

In general west ham have a very good record v Spurs, over the last 5 games, 3 wins and 2 defeats, both 3-2 defeats were interesting, the first one West Ham were 2-1 up in the 89th minute until Spurs started diving to win penalties and indeed the league game this season West Ham came back from 3-0 to 3-2 and were unlucky not to draw
W3-2 L3-2 W1-0 L3-2 W1-0
Southampton was similar, 2-0 down and down to 10 men, brought it back to 2-2 but lost in the 93rd minute, I don't expect to comeback, I don't want to be 2 or 3 down in the first place! that's why I think its time for a new manager, the players are plenty good enough to comfortably finish top 10

More managerial sackings: this time it's Pedro Caixinha at Rangers. He'd been manager for only 7 months and had taken charge of 26 games with a record of Won 14 Drawn 5 and Lost 7.

Suspect Stam may be going soon at this rate... I'd already thought about the possibility of relegation a month ago given how 1998 and 2008 went (as I mentioned around the time of the playoff final) and I think we were possibly in better positions then than we are now at the same stage. Not contemplating relegation as a fear in the "your clubs chances" thread is looking rather silly right now...
A week ago I was tempted to go today, glad I didn't and watched the England u17s win the world cup final even if I did have to miss the last 20 mins or so. They were incredible in winning 5-2 against Spain.

My team are suddenly on a good run, and with Shrewsbury now losing a game, maybe they'll lose a few more and drop out of the top 2. We have a game in hand over Bradford so if all goes well we'd be in the best position to capitalise on a Shrewsbury collapse.

2 great wins for Reading in the last week Off to the Wolves game in a couple of weeks, over the last few years we seem to have played better against the better teams, especially when we're struggling, so hopefully it will be a good game.

I'd just like to mention poor Clipstone (Welfare) played 23, lost 23 -63 GD, but they have wons games on various cups, so surely cant be long til they get a league win?

My nearest team, Whitehawk, were doing almost as badly until recently. At the turn of the year they had a magnificent four points (from four draws) i their first 23 Conference South games. On New Year's Day they finally won, 4-1 at Eastbourne. On Saturday they drew 2-2 at home to Bognor Regis to extend their unbeaten run to two games, their best this season.
Also a word for Benevento in Serie A. They had taken a miserable one point from 18 games (a 2-2 draw at home to Milan). However, they have now won their last two games and only have to make up an eight point gap to get out of the bottom three.

Yeah, I noticed Benevento and saw their upturn in form as well.

So there is now talk of a winter break, but not over Christmas, so I'm assuming some time in January. Is this just for the Premier League as obviously any sort of a break for lower league teams is a financial burden. And I don't see the point as they talk about resting, etc. but they will all go off and play friendlies, I see it in Germany all the time!

Hurrah! I bet a fiver on Newcastle to beat Man Utd at odds of 11/2 - good news! I did toy with the idea of betting on the correct score and was going to go for 1-0 but thought I'd be pushing my luck... still, picking up £32.50 is better than nothing

In Bracknell ahead of Marske's FA Vase quarter-final tomorrow. A win would put us one round from Wembley...

In Bracknell ahead of Marske's FA Vase quarter-final tomorrow. A win would put us one round from Wembley... Enjoy the sights of Bracknell. If you take your time you could stretch it to almost five minutes. There's always the road with the Dursley's house in the Harry Potter films.
