4. Raliverpool (105 points) Blondie – Atomic Many peoples tip to win but a few late scores pushed it down the order from 2nd to 4th, Raliverpool had just clawed Earl Purple's overall lead back by 30 points last round but looks like he will extend it again here, but by how much? It is why I think it is wrong for posters to predict how a song is going to do why the votes have not come in, as it clearly influences people votes. Hence why you never see an exit poll until after the voting ballots have closed, and why I will be clamping down on this behaviour when I host Haven Factor 3.

To be fair Blondie was 6th when people tipped it to win and it went to 2nd on the back of that and 2 days later with the last votes trickling in the big points for other acts edged them back ahead so I don't think it influenced the votes negatively at all, the votes for Blondie surged after the prediction

2. Shireblogger (113 points)Talking Heads - Road To Nowhere
This is the song that rose from 5th to 2nd late on, Andy and Milliways gave it their 15 points, great song but I didn’t expect it so high in such a strong field. When Shireblogger gets back from his holiday he will be delighted with this.

1. Earl Purple (135 points) James - Sit Down
Another band from Manchester storms away at the top, I cant remember anyone tipping it but I thought it would be in top 2 comfortably, it was mine and Whitneyfan’s number 1 song this round and a load of people gave it big points, more importantly it extends EP’s lead at the top overall by exactly the 30 points he gave up last round

I'm chuffed with the one that won. It is the very definition of indie pop too, as there were one or 2 tracks here that I wasn't sure fitted the brief.

I don't think it influences votes, certainly not mine. I'd like to think we're voting honestly and not tactically.

Earl Purple re-extends his lead by 30 points and Greendemon closes the gap on Andy in 3rd by 10 points, big scores from Shireblogger and Thorney wasn't enough to move them up but it has put them both within striking distance of 5th place, we have one mover, Big Dan who goes up one place to 11th

I've dropped from third to ninth in 6 rounds... and I don't hold out much hope for the next round either!

It was only a few weeks ago I was put in my place for saying Blondie were a pop band when I was talking about them winning Haven Factor, I was told they came from the underground punk scene with Ramones and they were most definitely not pop, well this was the indie pop/alternative pop round so maybe a few people didn't think it was in the right round, it seems like it lost more points because of that than anything else. All I know is it climbed the scoreboard after it was mentioned as a contender, after that Blondie picked up the 2nd most points behind James and with it being in 6th before that had picked up the 6th most until then

This was the one song I submitted that I had expected to do well and was very happy when it got accepted.
As whitneyfan says, it fits the category perfectly.

9. Manickangaroo (61 points) Furniture - Brilliant Mind
One I worried about at the start but it exceeded my expectations with a nice mid table finish, Raliverpool gave it his 15 points but it got a few decent points, overall it keeps Manic in 6th and puts him 10 points closer to Smokeyb in 5th Disappointing but not unexpected result. I would have fared better with my original choice of the Manics with Nina Persson if it hadn't already been chosen in round 5.

And much better than the Manics track IMO.

Very pleased that my 15 points choice won and I didn't expect to do so well with The La's so yay.

Really happy with the results Talking Heads did better than I expected. That Blur song is my favourite song of the 90s btw

Cheers Daz, finished about where I expected to really. As for comments on what will win etc. I'm not sure when the right time is, but if people think that will influence votes then I will stop saying it, and we can just have a thread saying "voted" etc.
