2 Shireblogger (112 points) The Coral - Dreaming Of You
Doing very well to beat White Stripes, The Fratellis and Arctic Monkeys, Earl Purple, Hupin and Rubcale gave it their maximum points, i cant argue, it is 29th on my top 2000 songs of the 2000's, cementing Shireblogger over 250 points ahead of 6th place overall

:(I'm well disappointed with that Hard-Fi result... I genuinely thought it had a good chance of winning.

1 Greendemon (125 points) Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
At one point Arcade Fire were 50 points ahead of its closest rival! with 15 points from Darkstar, Thorney, SmokeyB, Big Dan and Shireblogger, ultimately destroying his own chances of a win in round 15, in the end it limped over the line a little but the huge lead Rebellion (Lies) had early on was never going to be erroded, this gives Greendemon her 2nd win and cements her in 3rd place overall

We have a champion as Raliverpool holds on overall to beat Andy by only 2 points! Greendemon leapfrogs Earl Purple to claim 3rd place, Earl Purple and Shireblooger round off the top 5, Thorney finished in a respectable 6th place considering he stayed true to his rock roots, no selling out here, Manic introduced us to several bands and songs most of us had never heard of so 7th for him is very respectable too. Below them SmokeyB and Big Dan has Champions of Champions to look forward too after they both won a round and thanks to Roo for being a good sport ibb.co/fwNgR5

lol 6th I am amazed. I don't think I was being pedantic I really thought people would enter rock songs into a rock competition great as 99% of the entries have been, probably half of them I would never have even thought of entering, it just didn't cross my mind.
Next time I will go less rock maybe and everyone else will go heavier and I will be the fool again lol

If Hard-Fi aren't rock then neither are 90% of the other acts entered in this competition.

If Hard-Fi aren't rock then neither are 90% of the other acts entered in this competition. Precisely. You can hardly call me inconsistent on that point lol It is just interpretation we have discussed this enough. Anyway still gave you 5 points but I couldn't give you 1st or 2nd.

Nice to end with 2 wins Thanks everyone who voted for Arcade Fire, it's not the rockiest of rock songs - that said it's a modern classic and one of my all-time favourite songs, so I knew it would do well Congrats to raliverpool and well done Razzle Dazzle on a very well-hosted and entertaining contest, I can only hope there will be more of them! I'm really surprised Arctic Monkeys and Fratellis didn't do better than they did. I felt similarly to TheThorne about Hard-Fi but I didn't vote for it because it just didn't get a look-in with all the competition. Screaming Eagles was the discovery of the round for me, great song!

They are all rock because i say so Thanks to everyone who took part from the contestants to the regular voters who didnt take part in selecting songs, this started as an over ambitious idea by someone who had never hosted a contest! so all your support and ideas have halped shape what became a pretty succesful and fun contest where we found new music, apreciated old music we might have forgotten and generally had a bit of fun

Screaming Eagles was a great discovery. Should have done much better. I'm delighted with 2nd in this round, as the 00s is not my forte. But to be runner-up so many times, and never win a round, is gutting. Well played raliverpool and o. Some excellent choices there. But most of all, huge thanks to Razzle Dazzle for devising such a fun competition, and then running it so brilliantly. Thank you.

If there were another iteration of this contest, I don't know what strategy I'd employ, other than attempt to copy Andy's or raliverpool's tastes in music.
