Ronnie's 2 in the world rankings which are based on the last 2 years but the field for the World Grand Prix is based on prize money from this season only and on that list, Ronnie is at 1.
Next week's tournament is on ITV4. The Winter Olympics are on for another week so that's Eurosport's schedule full.

Been rather busy lately so time for a catch-up.
Ronnie's excellent form continues and he's given himself a chance of ending the season as world no.1. However, he went out in the 1st round of the China Open, despite a 147 break.
This year's Beijing event has a top prize of £220,000, making it the second richest event on the calendar after the World Championship.
We'll know the 16 automatic qualifiers for the Crucible after this week's tournament, then qualifying for the World Championship starts next week with 128 players battling it out for the remaining 16 spots.

Mark Selby won the China Open, beating Barry Hawkins 11-3 in the final. (I wonder when the last ranking final was that was longer than best of 19? Must be at least 20 years I reckon.) The victory ensures Selby will end the season at #1 in the world rankings for the 7th year in a row - just one short of Stephen Hendry's record of 8.
World Championship qualifying starts on Wednesday. I would expect the draw to appear at some point on Monday.

Oh well, I didn't expect Mark Williams to win it.. He joins Mark Selby as a 3-time winner. John Higgins has won 4, Ronnie O'Sullivan 5, Steve Davis 6 and Stephen Hendry 7.
In spans between first and last win though he has the biggest:
Mark Williams 18 years (2000-2018): 3 wins, 2000, 2003, 2018 John Higgins 13 years (1998-2011): 4 wins: 1998, 2007, 2009, 2011. Ronnie O'Sullivan 12 years (2001-2013): 5 wins: 2001, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2013 Stephen Hendry 9 years (1990-1999): 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999 Steve Davis 8 years (1981-1989): 1981, 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988, 1989 Mark Selby 3 years (2014-2017): 2014, 2016, 2017
Other Crucible winners, once each:
John Spencer 1977 Ray Reardon 1978 Terry Griffiths 1979 Cliff Thorburn 1980 Alex Higgins 1982 Dennis Taylor 1985 Joe Johnson 1986 John Parrott 1991 Ken Doherty 1997 Peter Ebdon 2002 Shaun Murphy 2005 Graeme Dott 2006 Neil Robertson 2010 Stuart Bingham 2015
John Spencer, Ray Reardon and Alex Higgins all won world titles before they were held at the Crucible.
