2. The Power Of Love - Frankie Goes To Hollywood OK so the lyrics don't mention any reference to Christmas at all, but listen to it with its nativity themed video and it takes on a whole new meaning. It's one of those songs that doesn't sound at all out of place on a Christmas playlist or a summer playlist - it's just timeless in every sense.

"Fairytale Of New York" at # 1 ? Predictably, but deservedly: 1. Fairytale Of New York - The Pogues Featuring Kirsty MacColl
It's one that I never tire of hearing. It's hard to believe Kirsty has been dead for 17 years now though! I still remember that like it was yesterday.

Probably it's my least favourite Kirsty's single.

Probably it's my least favourite Kirsty's single. I'm not sure I've got a least favourite. I pretty much like everything she ever did.

29. Postcard From London - Ray Davies & Chrissie Hynde
A modern Christmas masterpiece in my eyes, which should have been massive when it was released in 2009. In my chart it was, it reached #1 and was still there at the start of 2010. As a result, assuming "Lola" gets to #1 in my retro chart of 1970 Ray Davies will have been part of a #1 in my chart in every decade except the 1990s. I entered this for one of the Haven Xmas contests but it finished only mid-table.

I've just been re-reading this in order to help sort out my Christmas playlist for this year, and the one I've been listening to a lot so far is '2000 Miles' - I'm shocked I only placed it as low as #41. It would probably be top ten now.
