07/03/2018 Simian Mobile Disco - Hey Sister
London electronic duo (producer) James Ford and Jas Shaw return with the second track from their forthcoming 11th May Murmurations album. But of interest (on the day Sade returns) is that this features the vocals of Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey and Keren Woodward on the first original recording in 30 years!

11/03/2018 Flasher - Skim Milk
I heard this track this morning on Radio 6 Music by this young band from Washington DC who don't even have a Wikipedia page. I like this as it has a very late 1980s indie sound like a mellow Pixies meets Joy Division. This is released on Domino records.

12/03/2018 St Vincent - Pills
Annie Clark's oddball third single from her 5th album "Masseducation", with a suitably unsettling video. Weirdly it reminds me of Godley & Creme meets Laurie Anderson put through a 2010s sound filter.

18/03/2018 Fickle Friends - Wake Me Up The Brighton indie pop band released their debut album You Are Someone Else on Friday via Polydor records. (And in a sign of the times) this is the 6th (SIXTH!) "single" taken from it. To be fair they have been releasing singles since 2014,and Paris is three years old, it is quite an achievement that they managed to get their debut album out at all. In fact 8 of the tracks have been singles. Many bands from the last 5 years or so have never managed to get their debut album released and have only released a multitude of singles.

Fickle Friends are an odd one, I first charted them in 2015 with Say No More and some of the songs on their debut album pre date even that, then the album has 16 songs on it which is most odd, its basically a double album, half the album is an unreleased "album" from late 2014/2015/early 2016 when they sounded like a female version of the 1975 and the other half is there recent spurt of singles from 2017 to now witch have a more CHVRCHES meets Haim feel. It's great they got an album out there but it feels like 2 albums to me merged into one

24/03/2018 Kacey Musgraves - High Horse
It had to happen at some point or other. The country music star whom critics like because of her modern edgy lyrics; and hipsters like because she is making exactly the records that Taylor Swift should have carried on making; has moved a bit away from country on this warm disco track which sounds like a global #1 2018 summer smash hit .... had it been recorded by Taylor Swift.
