I'm amazed the Academy went for "Get Out" as a serious candidate. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but it's so not Oscarsy that I'm chuffed for Daniel Kaluuya and Jordan Peele. Equally surprised that "Detroit" got no nods. Bit old and out of memory now perhaps? But then again, "Get Out" was even earlier!

I found Detroit a bit overlong, and although it had some great moments, there were a few that I felt could've been cut

Of those nominated for Best Film, Dunkirk is the only one I've seen. And it is brilliant. I haven't enjoyed a war movie this much in a very, very long time. Without giving too much away, it is also significantly different from most films, which makes it even more compelling, in my opinion.

i've only seen a couple but both fantastic I watched 3 Billboards, great movie, and Frances is just incredible in the movie, 100% sure she wins the oscatr, no doubt about it
I also wacthed Call by by your name, even better, and the young actor that plays the main character was incredible too, reading now the book oh nd super excited about Sufjan Stevens being nomnated for best song, would be amazing if he performs, it's my fav song right now doubnt he wins and that song from the greatest showman is more commercial but there's always hope

Best live action short The Silent Child
So happy this won as hopefully it highlights hearing loss more and show the obstacles young children face.
