Are Luton promoted straight to the Premier League as they are such a huge club?

Cheaterfield moved a step closer to oblivion following their defeat last night. Interesting to see Tranmere heap the pressure on Macclesfield with a fine away win at Dover.

Tuesday 17 April League Two: Accrington will be promoted unless they don't win and Exeter do. National League: Macclesfield will be promoted if Tranmere lose. Guiseley will be relegated unless they win. Scottish Championship: Dumbarton will play a relegation play-off unless they win and Falkirk don't. Accrington are up to the third tier for the first time since they were re-established in 1968; they had managed two seasons in Division 3 (1958-60) plus a bunch in the 3rd Division North. Guiseley went down, but Macclesfield must wait for promotion. Dumbarton's play-off place is confirmed.

Amazing for Accrington with their crowds and budget, sadly when they came to the Stags, they were a bunch of whiny cheating so and sos, so it's good riddance imo.

Whitehawk's inevitable relegation from Conference South was confirmed on Tuesday when they conceded two late goals. Still, given that they had just four points at Christmas they have done well to delay it for so long. They even managed to avoid being the first to go down - Bognor Regis (the first team to lose to Whitehawk this season) had already had their relegation confirmed.
It looks like Poole Town (who finished in the play-off positions last season but couldn't take part because of issues with their ground) will join them.

Looking forward to Cheaterfield’s impending relegation. They should have probably been thrown out the league following the corruption scandal so it is just desserts

Saturday 21 AprilChampionship: Wolves will win the league unless they lose and Cardiff win. Sunderland v Burton is a relegation six-pointer: - If Sunderland lose, they go down if two of: Bolton don't lose, Birmingham don't lose, Barnsley win
- If Burton lose, they go down if Bolton and Birmingham both win
- If it's a draw, then both teams go down if Bolton and Birmingham both win.
League One: Wigan will be promoted if they win and off-form Shrewsbury don't. Rotherham can confirm their play-off place.
League Two: Accrington will win the league if they win and Luton lose. Luton themselves will go up if they win, Exeter lose, or both draw. Notts County might confirm their play-off place if they draw. Barnet go down if they lose, Grimsby win, and Forest Green don't lose against Chesterfield. Chesterfield go down if they lose, Grimsby win, and Morecambe don't lose; this would also send Barnet down if they draw.
National League: Macclesfield will be promoted unless Tranmere better their result - this would confirm Tranmere's play-off place; Aldershot, Sutton, Boreham Wood, Fylde and Ebbsfleet can all confirm their own places on Saturday. Torquay will be down unless they better Barrow's result, while Woking will be relegated if they don't win and Barrow do.
SPL: Celtic will win the league if they win, or on Sunday if both Aberdeen and Rangers fail to better their result.
Scottish Championship: Livingston, Dundee United and Dunfirmline can all confirm play-off places - a win for Dunfirmline at Inverness will do it for all three, and a draw in that game would put the other two through. If Inverness win, then Dundee United would need a win and Livingston a draw.
Scottish League One: Alloa and Arbroath will both confirm their play-off places unless they lose and Stranraer win (Alloa play on Sunday).
Scottish League Two: Montrose will be promoted if they better Peterhead's result. Stirling and Stenhousemuir can confirm their play-off places. Sunday 22 AprilPremier League: West Brom will be relegated if they lose (v Liverpool, Sat) and Swansea don't (at Man City...); or if they draw, Swansea win, and Crystal Palace don't lose (at Watford, Sat) Scottish League One: Ayr will be promoted if they win and Raith (on Saturday) don't.

Please can we just call Southampton as already relegated, so that I don't have to read about the mathematical permutations here. Another woeful negative performance tonight by a bunch of couldn't-care-less prima donnas.

Shrewsbury are not really off-form, just got outclassed on Tuesday by a superior team who would have been up there had it not been for poor mid-season management but someone who didn't even want to be there, the take-over talks and a lot of injuries. Hopefully look forward to meeting them again in the playoffs.
Would be interesting in Boreham Wood take the place of Barnet in the league. Not sure why the space in their name though. Otherwise it will become an interesting local derby next season.

Just wanted to mention how well AFC Fylde and Salford City are doing these days. Salford look set to confirm their 3rd promotion in 4 years, and then they will be in the Conference/National, they were in the Evostick/Northern Premier league North in 2014/15. AFC Fylde have taken slightly longer, but could make the Conference playoffs and be in the Football league next season, in 2011/12 they were in the Northern Premier League North as well!

Yeah I’d have thought they’ll be a big crowd at Macclesfield today Yeah, there was 3000. Nice to see Macc back, as it's a ground I've done. Got to be better than having Sutton United in the league, or Boreham Wood, although both could be successful in the playoffs, but I hope not, be good to get Tranmere back. Chesterfield have been mismanaged for years, so no surprise to see them falling down the leagues, happened to Stockport and Leyton Orient. I've heard they're big in debt, so could be in real sh*t, if the Conference get wind of that. So where's the money gone from the recent sales of players? Not sure about the likelihood of Sutton going up, unless they are prepared to rip up their 3G/4G pitch. Bromley are in the same position if they make the playoffs, hoping at least 1 Kent team gets in anyway, which is more likely to be Ebbsfleet or Dover.

Bit worried if that isn't the case as expecting him to be in the World Cup squad... How's McCarthy been? Would love to see Long come back, think he's just the striker we need, but very much doubt we could afford him. Hope he can get his career going again back in the Championship with you.

And yet the players and managers are all non league players, you can have millions, but the players have still got to turn it on week in, week out. We're all just jealous that we dont have millionaire/billionaire owners to help our teams up the leagues!

Torquay will be down unless they better Barrow's result, while Woking will be relegated if they don't win and Barrow do.
Wolves are Champions after a thumping win, while Sunderland are relegated - they can't catch both Burton and Bolton, since they play each other next weekend. Wigan will return to the Championship, since they won while Shrewsbury could only draw. Rotherham will be in the play-offs - 5th-placed Charlton can't catch them. Accrington aren't champions yet - they can still be caught by Luton, who sealed their promotion with a draw. Notts County will finish in the top seven, but might yet be promoted automatically. Meanwhile, Chesterfield aren't quite down, but need a 9-point and 19-goal swing over the final three games. Barnet boosted their survival chances with a win. Macclesfield return to the Football League after a six-year absence, after a win yesterday. Tranmere, Sutton and Aldershot will take three of the play-off places; the other three will go down to the wire, with seven teams still in contention. Torquay go down to the National League South, but Woking are now level on points with Barrow after a late win. Celtic must wait, after their defeat yesterday coupled with Aberdeen's win. Livingston and Dundee United will be in the play-offs, but Dunfirmline's place isn't sealed yet, after they only drew. The Scottish League One title race will go to the last day, after Raith overtook Ayr yesterday. Arbroath and Alloa will be in the play-offs. They're also going to the wire in League Two, as Montrose and Peterhead both won. Stirling and Stenhousemuir missed their chances to seal play-off places, and will play each other on the final day in a sort of play-off for the play-offs. Sunday 22 AprilPremier League: West Brom will be relegated today if Swansea pull off a shock win at champions Man City.

Virtually their entire squad is made up of ex-professionals. Having had a look at their page on wiki and Harrogate Town's I disagree, there are some older players coming to the end of their careers at both sides, but I'd say Harrogate has more football league experience than Salford City. A lot of them look like youngsters who played a handful of games at a higher level, weren't successful and have dropped down a few divisions.

Bertrand has been barely adequate. As a defender he has gone awol from time to time, and his positioning can be suspect. Going forward, he rarely takes on opposing defenders, and his crossing is more miss than hit. And, as captain, he has done precious little to stamp his personality on matches, or try to raise the performance of the team. I think he is a talent, but only as a cog in a good team. He would look better playing for a better side, which I assume is what will happen next season. The England back five will be our weakness at the World Cup, and whether he's playing or not, I would expect the better teams to try to exploit our frailties at full back / wing back.
