Opening Ceremony was this morning on Australia's Gold Coast.
Always makes an interesting filler in a non-Summer Olympic year and it's fun to see the home nations competing separately, with the Channel Islands and Isle of Man involved as well.
Interest in the Games seemed to be waining a little while back but the huge success of Glasgow 2014 gave it a much needed shot in the arm.
I'll try and do a day-by-day tracker again of which teams have won a medal...

Had no idea it was even taking place! Being half Malaysian I do like to support the underdog. They do pretty well in the Commonwealth Games... less competition lol.

Norfolk Island's bronze medal in bowls is only the second they've ever won at the Commonwealth Games since they started competing in 1986 and their first since 1994.
The island, which has a population of just 1700 was a 19th century penal colony and is now an Australian territory.

Maybe the luscious subequitorial rain helped with Norfolk Islands green clipped grass. Obviously not an advantage here - you may as well be playing boule chucking the woods down a dusty alley of no water.
