Friday's results: GROUP A Bulgaria 1-1 Montenegro England* 5-0 Czech Republic GROUP B Luxembourg 2-1 Lithuania Portugal* 0-0 Ukraine* GROUP H Albania 0-2 Turkey Andorra 0-2 Iceland Moldova 1-4 France England's unbeaten run in qualifiers is now 40 matches and the last defeat came in 2009 against Ukraine when they'd already sealed qualification for the World Cup (England played almost all of that game with 10 men after Rob Green was sent off early on). England's last meaningful defeat in a qualifier was the home defeat against Croatia in 2007. Raheem Sterling is the first England player to score a hat-trick in a qualifier since Jermain Defoe scored three against Bulgaria in 2010. Portugal make yet another slow start to a qualifying campaign, despite Cristiano Ronaldo's international return, which means the improving Luxembourg top Group B at this early stage. No such problems for the world champions.

Monday's results: GROUP A Kosovo* 1-1 Bulgaria Montenegro 1-5 England* GROUP B Luxembourg 1-2 Ukraine* Portugal* 1-1 Serbia* GROUP H Andorra 0-3 Albania France 4-0 Iceland Turkey 4-0 Moldova England score five again and are now just six games away from going the entire decade unbeaten in qualifying matches. England miss the next round of qualifiers due to their Nations League involvement so don't have another one until September. Ronaldo limped off injured as Portugal failed to win again. An injury time own goal cost Luxembourg top spot in the group but they remain in the top 2.

Tuesday's results: GROUP D Ireland 1-0 Georgia* Switzerland* 3-3 Denmark* GROUP F Malta 0-2 Spain Norway* 3-3 Sweden* Romania 4-1 Faroe Islands GROUP J Armenia 0-2 Finland* Bosnia & Herzegovina* 2-2 Greece Italy 6-0 Liechtenstein Ireland grind out another 1-0 win to top Group D. Now we have to see what Mick McCarthy's men can do against teams ranked inside the top 90 in the world. Denmark came from 3-0 down to claim a point in Switzerland. Sweden looked to have come from 2-0 down to beat Norway, only for the Norwegians to level the scores in the 97th minute. Greece also produced a fightback to claim a point, while Italy had 40 shots in their 6-0 win over Liechtenstein.
