Both Alien movies will do well, though I couldn't say if I think the singular or plural version will do better. I prefer the first one myself, though there is a lot of love for the second. They are such different films, and each of them is brilliant in its own way.

I was thinking the same about the Alien films doing well, but not sure if they'll steal points from one another. Everyone does tend to prefer one to the other.
Personally I much prefer Aliens to the first film. I actually prefer the third film to the first as well.

Few of my notes from these:
-Jaws is brilliantly directed, but the plot has more holes than one of the shark's victims. Truly ludicrous. There's a massive killer shark and they send out ONE ship run by a madman, with one person on board who's hydrophobic, and they're wearing JEANS?
-The Shining: I couldn't take it seriously given that Nicholson was 9 out of 10 on the loony meter even before he got to the hotel. There was no nuance in his performance at all. Again plotwise it was moronic - there's a history of people going stir crazy so they send someone up there with a family?
-Les Miserables: totally spoilt by Russell Crowe. If you're going to have people in a musical, please make sure they can actually SING.
-I've never seen The Sound Of Music. Does that make me unique?
-Antony Hopkins is the classic example of show-stealing in Silence of the Lambs. Even when he's tied up and propped upright on a trolley he does more acting with his eyes than some people do in a career.
-I saw Star Wars as a bab when it came out. Dozed off in the middle of it and didn't realize till I saw it on telly some years later. There was a whole bit I'd missed.

-Miss Congeniality has the classic Hollywood Ugly problem. Sandra Bullock in a shlubby state is still Sandra Bullock. Still stunning. She barely looks different when glammed up.
-I wish we had the rest of Metropolis...
-Casino Royale might be the best Bond film. Note the irony of Bond working out Le Chiffre's tell. It is actually 100% irrelevant at the climax - because Le Chiffre is not bluffing; there is only one had that can beat his. (The original Casino Royale might be the worst film ever made.)
-Carry On Up The Khyber has one of the few ad libs allowed in Carry On (Jim Dale suggested another in Don't Lose Your Head). When Joan Sims as Lady Ruff-Diamond says at the end "I'm getting a little plastered!" The lack of shots of Angela Douglas in the final scene is because she was corpsing throughout.
-"I shot an arrow in the air, she fell to earth in Berkeley Square." Exquisite.
-12 Angry Men shows you don't need explosions or FX to grip an audience. You just need acting and a script. 99% of it is in one room.
-Citizen Kane and Casablanca are two of the greatest artistic achievements of humankind ever. When the AFI did their greatest quotes, 6% of them were from Casablanca.

Mamma Mia did a lot better than I expected (or frankly than it deserves!)
Pleased that my favourite LOTR film made the top 10.

Well done Haven for putting 12 Angry Men in the top 15. A true masterpiece, and so simple.

Also, I had no idea Death Becomes Her was so popular! I saw it as a teenager and really liked it but I hardly see anyone talking about it.
