To celebrate Motown's 60th anniversary on 12th January 2019, I thought we could post videos of your favourite Motown tracks.
Any Motown song from the last 60 years, there's hundreds to choose from.
I will start with one of my all time favourites.
The Four Tops - Reach Out (I'll Be There) from 1966

My favourite Motown song is:
A pity Berry Gordy Jr sabotaged them after the primary inspiration for Miss Piggy left to go solo.

Great song which could have been a UK #1 if released a couple of weeks later especially if Miss Piggy had still been on board!
Personally though I have always had a preference for Nathan Jones.

I normally prefer the girl group sounds from the sixties, but obvs Berry didn't want to detract too much from Ms Ross. So the a-list material went to the men.
^ Melvin Franklin's bass voice is astonishing.

It's not Motown, but the medley of Supremes hits, recorded by Dutch ex-Luv' member Marga Scheide in 1983. Since her surname Scheide did not appear on the cover and performed a medley of Motown songs, many Americans believed that she was a black singer.
