Who watched this 1st time around? My daughter has been interested in it, and thankfully I have (at least) the first three seasons on dvd from a friend. Watched the first 6 eps, and it still looks good, great to watch it with an eye to the end game, and see what little clues you get. My daughter already thinks it's something to do with experiments because of the polar bear and Locke being "cured", so she shouldn't be too surprised when the Dharma Initiative turn up Anyone else rewatched it recently?

Loved it 1st time around, but I haven't rewatched it recently, though I do have some seasons on DVD (can't remember which off-hand).

Me... don't you remember those days between me and you and if I remember rightly you send me an episode to watch as I was on holiday or something.

I did enjoy Lost. I think that partway through it dipped somewhat and was not as engaging as the first few seasons but I stuck with it and it came back to form before its concluding season.
I’d recommend to anyone.

I really liked it at first but gave up on it before the last season... it just got a bit too weird and silly for me. I Googled the ending years later and I have to say I have no regrets about not watching it!
I'm all for shows with complex, multi-layered plots and clues where you have to try to puzzle out the truth but the more it went on the more it just seemed like a puzzle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a mystery just for the sake of it.

I think the first two seasons would be worth watching again but nobody can make me watch that whole season again where all they did was press a button!!!

Think we are just coming up to them finding the hatch, and then they get in it in season 2? Locke believes you press the button, and when they don't the island is exposed I think, and can be tracked/found? I remember liking bits of the end, and not other bits, I liked how the flash sideways resolved themselves, thought it tied it up nicely. I'd forgotten I sent you videos/dvds martin, but I remember getting them from Ireland and from a neighbour at various times in order to watch it, and then I was passing it around at least 3 people at work as well!

The dvds of the early seasons are quite cheap now at CEX Shotes. I may invest in a few as ive never ever Lost.

We recently watched the whole box set, as first time round we both got bored part way through season 2.
I have to say, the whole ending was so entirely disappointing, we ended up googling "what was the point of Lost" after watching the final episode, because it didn't really make sense. Or rather, it did make sense, if by sense you mean "a really lame ending that doesn't explain or solve any of the mysteries encountered over the entire 6 series".
Like Jade, we like complex plot layered on plot type programmes, where you figure out with the cast what's going on. Lost just didn't do it. It was like they thought "lets put this random thing in to get everybody wondering and talking about it" but then then promptly forgot what they out in and moved on to something else and hoped nobody would notice.

The island was magical and needed protecting by Jacobs successor, he brought people to the island to protect it, his bad brother killed them so he could leave the island. Lots of them died trying to protect the island and they were in the sideways uni else created by Walt to move on together?

But why is the island magical and why does it need protecting? Why couldn't the black smoke thing leave the island without killing everyone? What was the glowing light? Why did someone going into the glowing light cause a big black death cloud to appear? And why did it sound like a mechanical security system? What was the point of the numbers, that were repeated over several story themes but didn't seem to have any real purpose? Why were some illnesses cured by the island, while others were not? What caused every pregnant woman to miscarry, or rather, why did 'the event' cause it? Why could the island time travel? Who exactly were the Others and why were they on the island in the first place? Why was Jim from Neighbours so intent on getting back to the island, and then when he did, why didn't he actually do anything? Why, when returning to the island, did some of the travellers get 'zapped' back in time, while others stayed on the plane until it landed on the neighbouring island? Who built the big statue? Where did the Dharma Initiative food drop come from when the Dharma Initiative had been wiped out many years prior by the Others?

From what I remember, Lost was a huge success and they kept extending it and extending it for more and more series (£££) when it should've been wrapped up in 3 or 4 series but I think they tried to keep it interesting in the middle by taking it in so many different directions mostly to trick viewers into the wrong conclusion they just couldn't answer all them questions when they tried to wrap it up, I'm fairly sure that most of the crazy filler midway through (series 3, 4 and 5) wasn't written when the first series was aired and the ending was loosely known and it shows, still I found it enjoyable enough
