We were just talking about how awful 'Let It Be' by Ferry Aid is, after seeing it on an old TOTP but its a masterpiece of star quality compared to this.

I sat through a whole minute trying to recognise who was featured in this from this comment - and got as far as the beardy guy with man-bun, which I assume was Newton Faulkner or something - then decided I’d rather unpack the dishwasher instead. Sorry charity. Did not like. EDIT - oh it is, it says so at the top of the thread. Silly me

We were just talking about how awful 'Let It Be' by Ferry Aid is, after seeing it on an old TOTP but its a masterpiece of star quality compared to this. Funnily enough the Norwegian comedy/satire show that gave us Ylvis "The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)" duly noted the lack of quality of that 1987 "Charidee" single, and went about recruiting a superior, yet equally random WTF line up for a remake:
Featuring:
Roger Moore, Huey Lewis, Jason Alexander, Ricky Lake, Josie Bissett, Alberto Tomba, John Nettles, Corbin Bernsen, George Wendt, Paul McKenna, Philip Michael Thomas, Steve Guttenberg, Katarina Witt, Tonya Harding, Glenn Close, David Faustino, Gorden Kaye, Alfonso Ribeiero, Pamela Anderson, Leslie Nielsen. Mickey Rourke, Sheryl Lee, Jamie Walters, Larry Drake, Dolph Lundgren, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Judd Nelson, Ana Alicia, Peter Falk, Kelly McGillis, Sherilyn Fenn, Rick Schroder, Bud Spencer, Robert Englund, Roy Marsden, Boyzone, Dan Jansen, Kathleen Turner, Maggie Reilly, Harpo, Maria McKee, Meja, Fab Morvan, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Dr. Alban, Right Said Fred, Daryl Hannah, Rednex, Michael Connor Humphreys, Michael Learns To Rock, Ten Sharp, Lou Ferrigno, Berlin, Style.

I am not against charity songs persay but the same track covered again? If it must be a cover there are thousands of songs to choose from which can still create an emotional impact and appeal. Despite the reason behind the campaign, the song itself is pretty bleak and depressing.

Its another Z List again isnt it. I see a lot in that video are struggling to shout out the lyrics. Personally nothing against charity records but the whining moaning sounds of singers (yeah yea a yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh ughhh) sort of ruins the orignal of the song.
Not sure whether it will trouble the chart at all when released this friday unless radio is totally behind it and tv.
There must be other songs that they could have used but it does seem to be the same ones used over and over again.
