In the Premier Division relegation battle, it looks like 37 points will be enough to secure a place in the top league next year. And it will be Cardiff, not Brighton, who survive.
BRIGHTON: 33 points now, and in terrible form.
Games left: Wolves (A), Tottenham (A), Newcastle (H), Arsenal (A), Manchester City (H).
Predicted points: a desperate, scrappy 3 points against Newcastle to leave them on 36 points.
CARDIFF: 31 points now, fighting hard but with patchy form.
Games left: Liverpool (H), Fulham (A), Crystal Palace (H), Manchester United (A)
Predicted points: deserved wins against Fulham & Palace leave them with 37 points.
If I'm right, then every other club is already safe except Southampton, who would need 1 more point. Amongst the Saints' 5 remaining matches is a home fixture against Huddersfield, so that shouldn't present a problem.
(Famous last words).

Yeah, Brighton's terrible form is really worrying, especially as I went with two Brighton defenders in my disastrous FPL wildcard picks! It's hard even to see them winning against Newcastle, to be honest - I think they're doomed.

Tuesday, Scottish Championship: Inverness CT will be in the play-offs if they win at Greenock Morton. Wednesday, WSL: Yeovil will be relegated unless they win and Everton lose. Inverness drew, leaving them a 9-point and 12-goal advantage over Dunfermline with three games left. Yeovil, who have had financial troubles, are relegated from the WSL, but are hopeful of being able to participate in the Women's championship next season. Manchester United will replace them in the top flight as one of two promoted teams. Many ups + downs possible tomorrow - update coming later.

I've just found out that Clyde p,aged a p,Ayer they shouldn't have, and so lost the 4 points they gained, fair enough maybe although they didn't realise they were breaking g any rules. However the sfl have also decided to award 3-0 wins to the other teams as well, one of which is Albion Rovers, how truly bizarre to do such a thing...

The permutations I just wrote up might be out of date, then! (edit: looks like they're fine, as the adjustment was reflected in the table to which I was referring)

Friday 19 April - England (mostly)

Norwich will be promoted if they win and Sheff Utd lose. Bolton will be relegated if they lose; or if they draw and two of: Millwall draw/win, Wigan draw/win, Rotherham win; or if they win, Millwall and Wigan both win, and Reading don't lose.
League One
Bradford will be relegated if they lose and two of: Scunthorpe don't lose, Rochdale don't lose, Wimbledon win, Southend win; or if they draw and two of Scunthorpe, Rochdale, and Wimbledon win.
National League
Wrexham, Fylde, Harrogate and Eastleigh can all confirm play-off places this Friday.
Scottish Championship
Ayr will be in the play-offs if they avoid defeat at home to Ross County.

Saturday 20 April - Scotland
Championship
If Dundee United don't match Ross County's result, then Ross will be promoted and Dundee United must settle for a play-off place. If Ayr lost on Friday, they'll still be in the play-offs if Dunfermline don't win, as will Inverness, who can also make it if they avoid defeat.
League One
Forfar are not far from the play-offs: they'll be there unless they lose, East Fife win, and Montrose avoid defeat.
League Two
Peterhead will be promoted if they win and Clyde lose - Clyde would then be in the play-offs. Edinburgh City will be in the play-offs unless they better Peterhead's result.

Time to catch up... Championship: Norwich slipped up and their lead on 3rd place is cut to 5 points with 3 games left. However, Bolton are relegated, after their defeat made the meticulously figured-out permutations irrelevant. League One: Bradford are down - they lost, Scunthorpe drew and Rochdale won to lift themselves all the way to 17th. In a crazy relegation battle, 13th-placed Gillingham still aren't safe. National League: Wrexham can still (theoretically) catch Leyton Orient, but Fylde can't, and so will be in the play-offs. Harrogate and Eastleigh both lost, and get another chance tomorrow. Scottish Championship: Ayr lost, but the next day......

Dunfermline lost, meaning that both Ayr and Inverness CT sealed their play-off places. With Ross now 6 points and 18 goals ahead of Dundee United with two games left, the battle for automatic promotion rolls on thanks to mathematics. Is there anything it can't do? League One: Forfar won, and so will be in the play-offs. League Two: Peterhead won, but so did Clyde. Edinburgh City are therefore in the play-offs. Meanwhile, Rangers won, so Celtic wouldn't have won the title today even with a win.

Norwich would have been promoted today, but they couldn't do it on a hot Monday afternoon in Stoke. So they should fit right in once they do go up - they're now six points and ten goals ahead of Leeds. West Brom & Aston Villa both make the play-offs, and will almost certainly face each other. In League One, Charlton can still (just) catch Barnsley, and good results for the chasing pack mean that Luton can't be promoted tomorrow. Also, I totally forgot about the National League permutations last night - well today, Wrexham, Harrogate and Eastleigh all made the play-offs.

Harrogate in the playoffs in their 1st season in that league, impressive, might try and take in their home game if I can get tickets. Leeds looking like the playoffs now, depressing for Sam. And Mansfield on the cusp of the automatics, or the dreaded playoffs, can you imagine it coming down to that last game at MK, and they beat us I'll be gutted!

So here's how it's looking with about two games to go: Premier League (3-4 games left)- Liverpool and Man City are having a record-breaking title race
- Four teams below them are all falling over themselves in the race for the top 4
- Huddersfield & Fulham are down, with four teams still in danger of taking the last spot
Championship
- Promotion: Two of Norwich, Sheff Utd and Leeds
- Play-offs: West Brom & Villa, plus any one from 5 below them
- Relegation: Ipswich & Bolton, plus one from 3
League One- Promotion: A tight race, with five teams still in with a chance of a top 2 finish, including Charlton who need a mathematical miracle.
- Play-offs: One from three, with Doncaster in pole position
- Relegation: An almighty scrap: Bradford will be joined in League Two by three of the ELEVEN teams above them!
League Two
- Promotion: Lincoln plus two from five
- Play-offs: Anyone down to 14th can make it! Exeter lead the way, but seven teams can still catch them.
- Relegation: Two of Notts County, Yeovil and Macclesfield
National League (1 game left)
- Promotion: Leyton Orient can still be caught by Salford and Solihul
- Play-off quarter finalists: Fylde, Wrexham, Harrogate and Eastleigh
- Relegation: Maidstone, Braintree, Havant & Waterlooville and Aldershot
Scottish Premiership (4 games left)
- Champions: Celtic are 9 clear of Rangers
- Europa League: Two of the remaining four top-half teams will make it, and probably exit by the end of July.
- Relegation: Dundee, St Mirren and Hamilton are in danger, with one down automatically and one facing a play-off.
Scottish Championship
- Promotion: Ross County almost there - Dundee United need a miracle
- Play-offs: Ayr & Inverness
- Relegation: All of the other teams in the division can still go down!
Scottish League One
- Promotion: Arbroath
- Play-offs: Forfar & Raith, plus either Montrose or East Fife
- Relegation: One of Stenhousemuir and Brechin will go down automatically, the other will have a play-off.
Scottish League Two
- Promotion: Peterhead or Clyde
- Play-offs: Edinburgh & Annan
- Relegation: Either Berwick or Albion will play off against the Highland or Lowland league winners.
WSL Arsenal and Man City will be the top two and will qualify for the Champions League, while Yeovil have been relegated.

They'll be away to either Fylde or Wrexham in a one-legged match, with the winners playing away to 2nd or 3rd place. Here's the schedule: Wednesday 1st May 2019 Qualifying Round – Match A – 5th place vs 6th place Thursday 2nd May 2019 Qualifying Round – Match B – 4th place vs 7th place Saturday 4th May 2019 Semi Final – 2nd place vs winner of Match A Sunday 5th May 2019 Semi Final – 3rd place vs winner of Match B Saturday 11th May 2019 Promotion Final- Wembley Stadium

Thanks Frag, had forgotten about 2nd and 3rd getting through to the "final" and having home advantage, I see why they do it, but financially not good for the lower placed teams.
Relegation: Either Berwick or Albion will play off against the Highland or Lowland league winners.
Highland Winners - Cove Rangers Lowland Winners - East Kilbride, but they still have two games to play, ah no they dont as Selkirk have folded and their games removed. So assume the play off 1st leg could be this weekend, East Kilbride have lost twive this season, Cove Rangers just the once, Berwick have lost 25 times so far...

Reading effectively safe now, 6 points clear with 2 games left and a clearly better GD than Rotherham Going into Easter I thought one more win would do it but following Rotherham's surprise home defeat to Birmingham yesterday the two points we got over Easter were enough. It will be interesting to see our points gap at the end of the season, as I think we're lucky not to still be fighting relegation.. Would be very surprised now if Rotherham didn't take the final place, think they've got West Brom away and Middlesbrough at home in their final 2 games.

I have not really been following the internals of what is going on at Bradford City. When they were relegated 3 times in the 2000s, the last time being 2007, it was when they hit financial problems.
They did very well under Phil Parkinson and had that incredible season of reaching the League Cup Final then winning the playoffs, and subsequently getting to the playoffs 2 years in a row with an FA Cup run in which they beat Chelsea and Sunderland.
However 2017-18 season they started well then fell away to obscure mid-table and continued that bad run into the current season and aside from a mini-run around the New Year it was just a total disaster.
I'd have to ask fans of the club what exactly has been going on there.
That their manager Bowyer isn't as good as ours... I don't know. Either big debts left by previous owners or really bad owners now, I have no idea.
We do often see though a team who gets to the playoffs then fall away and Scunthorpe, who were in the playoffs both of the last 2 seasons are now in the bottom 4 after we just beat them 4-0. Shrewsbury who did well last season have had a very bad season this time but will probably stay up.
I'm a bit sad about Rotherham, not because I particularly like them, but because of who would have been going down instead but will probably now survive.
