Whilst it is good to have any sort of Pop related music show on BBC1, I can't help thinking it wont be a patch on:

Agreed bring back Pop Quiz. They did a one-off on BBC Four a whole back. There is interest.

I watched it and I regret it.
My thoughts (apologies if it makes me sound like an old 48 year old git):
1. It is aimed at Radio 1 listeners watching TV, even though the questions were not. 2. Too much small talk between questions (which you never ever got from Mike Read's Pop Quiz). 3. Marvin & Rochelle Hume come across as lovely people, but quiz show presenters they are not. 4. Tom O'Connor's ITV Name That Tune; & Mike Read's BBC Pop Quiz were much better concepts for a TV music quiz.
5. For crying out loud BBC, you currently have the perfect Pop Music show format perfect for TV, it's on weekdays on Radio 2 every 10:30. So get Ken Bruce on TV to host PopMaster instead using the normal, and year end winners format and you have a winning music quiz show not this dross.

It was a typical 2010s quiz. For a start, it took eight minutes to get to the first question. The overall format isn’t bad, but there was far too much waffle.
Of course, I would prefer a TV version of Popmaster, but I can’t see any channel being in a hurry to make it.

A surefire way to be a presenter on primetime tv in 2019 Get James Grant as your manager (All those mentioned in this tweet managed by James Grant Management)

I thought it was alright actually still would love to see Pop Quiz return and i like the suggestion about having Popmaster on TV. Good idea but can't see it primetime i could see it as a weekday afternoon quiz.

Well I liked it and i'm 47, it showed me i really need to brush up on my 10s pop, I was too slow on that 1st round. young girl and dad was perfect team for this. Also most of that music that the questions were for will not be alien to Radio 1 listeners as, Radio 1's greatest hits plays most of them and it seems to be on all the time ! yes even Dusty Springfield.
Yeh it could have started a bit quicker but thats no different to any other tv quiz right now. You wouldn't get Pop master on saturday BBC1 maybe BBC4. I was shocked that it was on saturday night, which you cant deny was very brave so we should support this.

I liked it too although I would have preferred better presenters (or better still just one) Like TheThorne it was the more recent stuff that let me down Its better to have this music quiz on TV than none at all

I thought it was ok, my son liked it, I was poor but that's the modern stuff letting me down, and yeah the father daughter combo were perfect for it, did we need an audience stood up clapping to every tune that was played though?

When the contestants were introduced, I thought the father and daughter would probably win. Having two people with broadly similar knowledge and taste rarely works in a game like this

Wasnt bad but too much talking from the presenters.
The current stuff let me down but that final round i would have won 10,000.
As James says at least we have a music quiz on TV and thats better than none at all
