Stormzy was indeed superb. Irrespective of whether you are a fan of the UK Grime artist and his music. (Much like The Prodigy in 1997) Anyone who watched that, and thought that was not good, does not recognise when something is great because of their own prejudices. The only act I'v watched on the iPlayer so far who disappointed me were The Charlatans who seemed to be rather lethargic, and going through the motions. I'm now watching Tame Impala from last night. Only in the same way that I appreciate Barbra Streisand or Celine Dion are talented and great live but I'd rather not listen to them. People can have preferences like all the people who saw Tame Impala instead. There is a hell of a difference between saying I don't like The Beatles (which is someone's personal tastes); and The Beatles were sh*t (which is making an arrogant factual untrue statement based on their own prejudices).
I was clearly saying that anyone who thought Stormzy was sh*t are prejudiced against his genre of music (Grime). Hence, I said "Anyone who watched that, and thought that was not good .....".
I personally far prefer the music of Tame Impala to Stormzy; but Stormzy was sensational headlining live at Glastonbury on Friday night; whilst I felt Tame Impala was solid but unspectacular on the same night.

I watched a bit of a highlights show last night, but they preferred showing us how they built a stage to showing us live performances, I think Sam Fender was on there, but I switched it off in frustration. Sadly been out all day so dont have time for all the stuff on iplayer, Killers and Cure playing? Cure will be interesting. You'd have been as likely to see Sam Fender last night; as you would have seen Snow Patrol on Friday night:

Whatever you may think of him, Brandon is still a fantastic front man and The Killers have an impressive catalogue of great songs. I always think Brandon Flowers as a front man is a 21st Century (Las Vegas) cross between Frank Sinatra & Simon Le Bon.
He & his band are just one example to shut up any boring fart who claims we don't have great pop/rock stars like we used to....
The Killers lived up to their name last night with their 5 star performance. All Killers no filler.

Fair enough but don't think there is many on this forum that would do that , we aren't Digital Spy. I like his presence personality and even his flow but I'm a radio edit kinda guy I don't really enjoy songs that have swearing all the way through which most pop does these days. It's ok one offs like 'Killing In the Nanw' but can't take 2 hours of that.

Isn't his new song about stealing people's girlfriend's and spunking on their face, that's if you can even understand his lyrics, nah not for me, if other people enjoy his ill rhymes and sick flow good for them, they probably HATE the music I like and turn their noses up at me not being up with the music scene that is currently flavour of the month, I dont buy into the counter culture of iPhones, yeezies or beats headphones, I'm sure for grime music it is exceptional but then the best garbage man is still just hauling trash. It's disposable radio music for kids isn't it? I'm not meant to like it

bad news for Sam Fender, hope he gets better soon, terrible to miss out on all that promotion at festival time, but your health is more important in the long run!

(Much like The Prodigy in 1997) Anyone who watched that, and thought that was not good, does not recognise when something is great because of their own prejudices. I've not seen any of Glastonbury yet, but will have hours of stuff saved on my box when I get home, which I'm looking forward to, including Stormzy. But to fail to recognise his greatness is not necessarily a consequence of prejudices. I'm incapable of telling the difference between great ballet and OK ballet. But that's because I've never had an opportunity to learn about ballet, and never been particularly interested in it as an art form. My inability to determine whether a ballet clip I've just seen on tv is great or not is therefore not a consequence of any sort of prejudice. Grime will be exactly the same for many people.

I hope you're recording Kylie as she just performed a phenomenal set Indeed. She totally put to shame Janet Jackson's miming to a pre-recorded live vocals track yesterday.
I bet the Eavis' are mighty relieved Madonna played hardball over money to appear this year, so they passed and went for a cheaper, safer option.
And I bet in hindsight the ESC organizers wish they did exactly the same thing this year.

Of the acts I saw last night Janelle Monae was sensational; Christine & The Quuens were superb; and The Cure were all you could have asked for from an act circa 30 years past their heyday. That was certainly Robert Smith's finest achievement since visiting South Park in 1998. Still this time next Sunday you've got the conclusion of the Hyde Park festival. I wonder who's headlining .....
Oh bugger ...

I'd buy tickets for Barbra Streisand over Stormzy without a doubt.

I know it was several weeks ago, but I've now finished watching the 40+ hours of Glastonbury that I loaded onto my box. For what its worth, here are my favourite performances:-
1. Killers 2. Chemical Brothers 3. Cure 4. Pale Waves 5. Johnny Marr 6. Billie Eilish 7. Two Door Cinema Club 8. Courteeners 9. Stormzy 10. Sheryl Crow 11. Jungle 12. Wombats 13. Carrie Underwood 14. Janelle Monae 15. Sharon Van Etten
Mostly artists I know and love, and but a couple that were almost unknown to me previously.
It always helps when I'm already familiar with the artists' work. But both Kylie and Janet Jackson are notably absentees from the list above, as I was really disappointed with both sets. Kylie's vocals were weak, and there was less showmanship than I have seen when I've been to her live gigs. And Janet was just inauthentic and dull.

I didn't watch Kylie's Glastonbury set, but she was absolutely amazing at Brighton Pride last weekend.
