230 YUNGBLUD - Loner #16 It is only matter of time but YUNGBLUD will be the biggest star in the UK, he is like a hip hop star, brit pop star and emo star all rolled into one. He has come from this to making tracks with Halsey and Imagine Dragons!! 229 Ghost - Chapter 8: Kiss The Go-Goat #16 www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyxrzUe_TDMDouble AA side single from the classic rock revivalists 228 Palace - Running Wild #20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE2oX0ra1M8Quality Sophisto pop from the London 4 piece. 227 Belle and Sebastian - "Sister Buddha" #27 www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9QjEtsMmuoOne of my favourite songs from B&S for some time, it has a feel of their 90s sound. 226 Simple Creatures - Drug #20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnVfZPNwJgUFirst song released from the Blink 182 & All Time Lowe collaborators

220 The Orielles - Bobbi's Second World #13 www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0lqNfMBUGIFollow up hit to my first number one of 2019, much more electro this one. 219 YONAKA: Rockstar #31 www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZvifPawrOwGoing down a bit of a Pvris route this time with EDM rock. 218 The Futureheads - Good Night Out #25 www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIwAgSug09YThis is more like it much more fun but they still a bit out of time for me. 217 Vök - Erase You #23 This is gorgeous for fans of MUNA & Warpaint, some lovely Icelandic dream pop. 216 Sea Girls - Closer #33 www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBQ5zWWTzbkPossibly one of the best singles bands of the last 2 years, just cant wait for their debut album!! This was just a throwaway track which wasn't even promoted as a single and its still great.

200 Circa Waves - Movies #10 Very good single and video from Circa Waves returning them to my top 10. 199 grandson: Blood // Water #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjIwXKPGf80Was quite late charting this as it was out in 2018 but I loved this and thought he'd be huge in 2019. 198 Underworld - Listen To Their No #19 www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFXVQJb_BpgBest track from Underworld for a very long time. 197 Starcrawler - Bet My Brains #30 www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwzlySJJJQQOnly peaked at #30 at the time but its from one of my albums of the year and has really grown on me. 196 Beabadoobee - I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus #25 www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPrw_Nyq88UTrack from the 'Space Cadet' EP, Pavement tribute song

195 Indoor Pets - Pro Procrastinator #11 Another contender for video of the year from the Kent power pop band 194 State Champs "Frozen" #25 www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPQkTuIyqnQThey have well and truly taken over from New Found Glory for me with their sound, just a great pop punk band. 193 Sundara Karma - The Changeover #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKkDGY27HSwA ballad this time and very David Bowie vibes. 192 Bear's Den- "Fuel on the Fire" #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=g89MYrHPWFILove this band they are like the modern equivalent of bands like The Bible or Big Dish. 191 Honeyblood - Bubble Gun #9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVEeRhrQsEgBest single since their debut which si very influenced by the classic riot grrl song 'Seether' , it even has a bit of Girls Aloud about it.

190 YONAKA - Bad Company #9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po4rx-8SJiIBiggest hit of the year from them. 189 A Day To Remember: Degenerates #19 www.youtube.com/watch?v=mq3iRf8QA28A Day To Remember go pop never thought i'd see the day, you could actually have imagined this near the top of the charts in 2001. 188 BLOXX - Go Out With You #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRxoQip-SGgAlso with a very pop release is the latest from Bloxx going very bubblegum. 187 Sleep On It "Hold Your Breath" #23 www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOHYQD-5l_ANow a band that are new to me in 2019 and they are ace, another pop punk band this time from Chicago. Did I every believe I would be so into this genre still!? Their album 'Pride & Disaster' is well worth a listen if you love thsi genre like I do! 186 Metronomy - Lately #16 Now a band that I have never liked as much as I feel I should, they are loved by Pitchfork, critics, hipsters, everyone. This record and album did it for me. Maybe its that they have guitars on this record but still its damn good.

185 Honeymoon Suite - Tell Me What You Want #16 www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJhckLcwPesThis is one of the biggest surprises of the year for me, the return of one of the best AOR pop bands from Canada. They are effectively one hit wonders for me from 1986 and I saw they had a new song on Spotify and omg, it is so catchy. This is as good as their big Canadian hits of the 80s and they always played 2nd fiddle to Glass Tiger for me but this comeback, trumps them big time. 184 Spyres - Otherside #19 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybA7JxsFcKcFrom a band that are over 35 years old to a band that are still at school and this is their debut single. For fans of Wolf Alice, Courtney Barnett and Raveonettes, this a really a band to watch in 2020. 183 Pip Blom - Daddy Issues #19 She just keeps on doing it, Pip Blom every single is an massive grower for me, this is a great video as well.
182 The Sherlocks - NYC (Sing It Loud) #14 Another really good video and a song that I liked a lot more than I expected, they are a bit meat and 2 veg for me these days but this is a tune. 181 SLEEPING WITH SIRENS - Agree To Disagree #15 www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwZh5tc4IvgAs A Day To Remember go pop, Sleeping With Sirens release their heaviest song yet, they are so obviously wanting a bit of that Bring Me The Horizon pie, not complaining as this is damn good.

Just catching up on this
264 Circa Waves - Times Won't Change Me #24 I have 3 Circa Waves tracks in my draft top 400, this Passport and my favourite The Way We Say Goodbye
251 Weezer - High As A Kite #19 This was #1 for 4 weeks for me so will be top 20
230 YUNGBLUD - Loner #16 This is one of 4 Yungblud songs I have in my 400 although I have 414 and still need to add tracks from the last week, this week and the next few weeks so some will be cut, the others are 11 minutes, Parents and Hope For The Underrated Youth
229 Ghost - Chapter 8: Kiss The Go-Goat #16 Love this and Mary On a Cross, both peaked at #2 I think
221 Fangclub - Hesitations #20 Yeah its on my list along with Nightmare and Vulture Culture
218 The Futureheads - Good Night Out #25 Best thing they have done for a long time and was a top 5 in my chart
208 The Amazons - Mother #18 and 207 The Amazons - 25 #19 Both of these will be high up in my 400 along with Doubt It and End of Wonder
182 The Sherlocks - NYC (Sing It Loud) #14 For me The Amazons and The Sherlocks are the two best new bands around, both have 4 songs in my 400

180 Potty Mouth - 22 #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6rWlVumtKkThe breakthrough song for me for the all girl punk band and scary that people are lamenting 22 as being an old age, pretty sure I was doing the same things at 22 as 18, I guess that's maybe their point Althought got mates who are 47 doing the same things as when they were 22!! 179 Hatchie — Stay With Me #20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwdXi0I8vsQSlightly different sound on this more Baleariac than Shoegaze but still very much the sound of the early 90s like most of her music. 178 The Vegan Leather - The Hit #20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpX8LRZCfzkThis quirky post punk band are much hyped by Radio 1's Jack Saunders, remind of the groups that came out in the wake of the New York scene in the early 00s like Do Me Bad Things, The Gossip and The Rapture 177 Anteros - Drive On #14 Biggest song for Anteros in 2019, their most anthemic reminds me of The Killers a bit, if they had a female front woman. 176 Frank Turner - Sister Rosetta #14 www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrP4aGSyMlgHas struggled to get big hits in my chart recently but this song just had a special something for me

175 Caroline Polachek - So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings #20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn3cHUtNZKoChairlift only had a couple of hits in my chart and this is the first for their ex lead singer,, its almost like she is reclaiming a sound that is much more famous from HAIM and MUNA these days. 174 St Etienne - Saturday Boy #19 www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_fdVXbJrUILow key release from St Etienne in 2019 and its perfectly decent as most of their stuff is, shame it didn't get more promo though. 173 Catfish and the Bottlemen - Encore #10 www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Wyb7u0uoawI am still very loyal to Catfish in my charts even though it isn't my favourite sound at the moment again perfectly decent. 172 Amyl and the Sniffers - Got You #35 The track was reissued but I didn't chart it 2nd time so instead I have rewarded it with a very high end of year place, one of the punk song of the years. 171 Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - Read My Mind #14 www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N6fYzgv-dIStaying in Oz with another single from my album of 2018

170 Simple Minds - For One Night Only #14 www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9BLo8W-Pk0New single released to promote their latest best of album, this is very 00s U2 but at least the synths are still shining through with this more stadium single. 169 PVRIS - Hallucinations #19 www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzdUeJnn0gMAs usual PVRIS walk the line between rock and pop perfectly, just don't get why radio doesn't play them more. 168 Keane - Love Too Much #27 A strong and welcome return for Keane with the 'Cause and Effect' album, they have another song still to come. 167 GREEN DAY - Fire, Ready, Aim #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8PPugsQWwMLoving the new Green Day stuff with a much more garagey punk rock sound similar to The Hives. 166 Silversun Pickups - It Doesn't Matter Why #14 www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nsJ8hnRkW4Another welcome return but maybe not as strong a first single as I expect from them.

165 Andy Black - The Promise #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejNSUL1YNyAI totally fell for this the first time I hear it, the Black Veil Brides singer goes solo and delivers this brilliant Bruce Springsteen meets MCR anthem. 164 Dream State - Primrose #9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUP0NjzDLPYBiggest song yet from the Welsh hardcore band, if we still had MTV2 or Scuzz this would have been all over it. 163 Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds - Black Star Dancing #18 www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LKSW_RK8SsNoel goes disco and makes one of the best singles in a long long time, he has been listening to Arcade Fire!! Reminds me also of those cultish Madchester songs that have been a bit forgotten like World of Twist or Paris Angels. 162 The Regrettes - Dress Up #11 Another biggest hit yet and its not my favourite song of theirs but it nearly gave them their first top 10 hit. Just some fun punk music with a bit of a Distillers influence. Great to see the band being kids I always forget how young they are. 161 MUNA - Stayaway #25 www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdCSmdJYKGYThis should have been a huge hit but got lost in a confusion of grats, just gorgeous classic MUNA

160 Sleep On It "Under The Moment" #26 Another hit for one of my pop punk discoveries of 2019, this should have been much bigger in my chart. 159 Badflower - Promise Me #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhNp7i4xaUUAll their music charts for me but this is their biggest hit for some time, just a great alt rock song. 158 ROAM - I Don't Think I Live There Anymore #16 www.youtube.com/watch?v=tF8bl6KgTFEMore pop/punk this time from Eastbourne signed to the amazing Hopeless records 157 Fontaines D.C. - Roy's Tune #16 www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D-JYLhN5YkDoing much bigger things in my chart in 2019, this is a ballad from them. 156 Friendly Fires - Can't Wait Forever #27 www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmBTusfy-EARecent radio single from one of my albums of 2019

150 The Darkness - Heart Explodes #26 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkOvA53YCRQThe Darkness were well and truly back this year with possibly their best record since their debut and this was a highlight. 149 The Chemical Brothers - Eve Of Destruction #19 www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYsXKhBknyMAnother great single from Chemical Brothers, this woudl have been top 10, twenty years ago funny how things change. 148 Deaf Havana - Holy #13 www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYHqlzDZ32gDeaf Havana have really hit on a formula, they have really perfected these anthemic pop songs with a rock sound. 147 Barns Courtney - Hollow #20 Someone else who is out of time is Barns Courtney, he would have been a huge star in the MTV2 era with his clever videos although this is the most 10s sounding song he has done. 146 elbow - Dexter & Sinister #20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CR628yT7aEVery dark and heavy record but also my favourite from them since 'Grounds From Divorce'
