71 The Raconteurs - "Sunday Driver" #4
So happy to have the Raconteurs back, I like them probably more than any other Jack White project and this is just a brilliant rock n roll track which is what you want from them.

70 The All-American Rejects - "Send Her To Heaven" #7
Another welcome and even more surprising return was a brand new song from All American Rejects, at first I didn't think it was up their with their 00s hits but it just grew and grew.

69 Two Door Cinema Club - Dirty Air #4
This song initially flopped as a grat but after extended radio play, I fell in love with it and it has become one of their biggest hits ever in my chart, rocking out a bit really suits them.

68 TOOL - Fear Inoculum #7
Something was put it right in 2019, TOOL finally had a hit in my chart. I got into them a bit late through MTV2 but I love almost everything they do, their sister band a Perfect Circle did much better in my charts. This epic track is just what we wanted from them, maybe the album doesn't dazzle or move you as much as 'Laterlus' or 'AEnima' but it is still a very good record.

67 The Black Keys - Go #7
I was a bit disappointed with the album 'Let's Rock' but they had this song up their sleeves which is a single to rival any of their songs from the past. The world is better with Black Keys in it.

66 State Champs - Real World #4
Are State Champs the premier 10s pop punk band?, I think they make a very strong case, they have the same grasp of a hook, vocals and sense of fun of the big pop/punk acts of the 90s and 00s and this single continues their run of amazing songs.

Catching up on this. A couple of those outside the top 200 have a very good chance of being in my end-of-year top 20. Quite a few overall that are on my shortlist but not much overlap in the top 100.

65 Friendly Fires - Silhouettes #4
Now it's party time biggest song of the year for them, one of my friends say they sound like Take That now, not happy about that.

64 The Killers - Land Of The Free #6
From party music to political and by far the most controversial track Killers have released, really telling it how it is in the US right now!!

63 You Me At Six - What's It Like #5
Back to the poppier end of the market from the boys from Surrey, with a huge Eastern hook. Bodes well for the direction of their next record.

62 Green Day - Father Of All… #4
Nobody saw this coming, Green Day return with a very Hiveseque sound, dirty punk rock and it really suits them, no more 9 minute opuses on this record.

61 FOALS - Black Bull #5
While we are on heavy music just outside the top 50, is this very dirty lead single from 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2', I still prefer the 1st record but I am getting more and more into it.

60 Coldplay - Orphans #1
Coldplay are back to their best with this new album and this Vampire Weekend type song really works well for them and gives them their first chart topper since "Viva la Vida"

59 Ride - Repetition #5
How fresh to Ride sound in 2019, this has a really good groove as provided by Errol Alkans production.

58 Sam Fender - The Borders #7
Sam Fender admits being influenced by War On Drugs and never is it more obvious than on 'The Borders'. I thought he was promising at the start but he has just got better and better through 2019 and eventually released one of my albums of the year. Just love the saxophone break!

57 Bear's Den - Laurel Wreath #4
More super classy folk pop from the boys from London, they are so much better than contemporaries Mumfords or Lumineers.

56 Bring Me The Horizon - sugar honey ice & tea
My favourite BMTH song from 'AMO' chages all the time but the heaviness off this combined with the EDM, makes it probably one of the most forward looking songs on the album. This is just full of riffs!!

55 Blaenavon - Catatonic Skinbag #5
Blaenavon ended up struggling for me at the end of the year when the new record was rush released with 2 singles and I never gave them enough of a chance. This song from earlier in the year fared much better, just a great indie rock song, its quite Feeder like.

54 WALK THE MOON - Eat Your Heart Out #2
They keep on doing it, this is a brilliant stand alone single harking back to the sound of their debut album, they have been one of the most successful acts in my chart in the 10s which I would never have predicted. You will have to wait a few months to see where they are in the decade end list!

53 Sea Girls - Violet #3
Sea Girls are just a indie pop machine, this is their most recent single and another instant anthem. Lets hope they have huge success when they finally release their debut album, what an album it will be!
