Just listened to the Sports Team song. Is the sort of stuff I usually chart.

90 Starstruck – Sorry #3
This was a song that never seemed to be of 6Music or Annie Mac/Jack Saunders, it is very cool indie music and just gets stuck in your head. The debut album from the London band '925' is coming in 2020

89 beabadoobee - If You Want To #13
One of my favourite new acts of 2019 signed to Dirty Hit, this was her debut hit in my chart. She has also been nominated for rising star award at the Brits which is amazing for an act who is so routed in 90s indie rock. Celeste of course will win though.

88 Another Sky - Apple Tree #4
Oh these songs are getting so good, they have released a lot of great music in the past 2 years but this is the best so far. I would compare this to Radiohead at their best with a video to match. Catrin and her band need to be way more known.

87 Billie Eilish - bad guy #54
Yes I know #54!!! I'm an idiot. It is brilliant and should have been a top 10 hit in my chart! Anyway you all know the story, the breakthrough act of the year!

86 Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles #5
Sometimes hype is justified and I feel that way with Sam Fender, he is a great songwriter and loves a lot of music I like and his sound is so good but he has even better songs to come.

85 Pond - Daisy #6
A band that have never broken huge for me always been in the shadow of Tame Impala but this is gorgeous and has finally given them a top 10 in my chart. Its like a love child of that band and Empire Of The Sun.

84 New Found Glory - The Power Of Love #5
Now I am not usually favourable to covers especially straight ones but this is NPG and Power Of Love!!, it has to be amazing and it is of course, with a brilliant video as well. The video got taken down by the band possibly copyright issues but it is back for now so enjoy!

83 Idlewild - Dream Variations #3
Idlewild back in 2019 with a brilliant debut and this very different psychedelic lead single, I also caught them live and they were incredible. They have a bigger song still to come.

82 Lizzo - Juice #23
One song that I really had to boost on this list as it should have been much bigger, this and 'Bad Guy' were my pop hits of the year. Not really a fan of Lizzo's other songs though.

81 Stereo Honey - You Are A Monster #3
I tipped this band when they released a brilliant debut single 'The Bay' 18 months ago and then they disappeared and they returned with with this epic indie rock song just incredible. Another band that shouldn't remain a secret

80 Feeder - Youth #6
Such a brilliant return to form for Feeder in 2019, they still have one more song to come much higher on the list. This shows a return to their heavier 'Echo Park' sound.

79 Miss June - Anomaly #7
Debut hit in my chart from these grunge rockers for fans of Garbage and Hole, this just grew and grew on me.

78 KennyHoopla - Sore Loser// #2
Another grower now, not sure what genre this is dream pop, lo-fi beats, shoegaze, I dunno but it is one of the basslines off the year. I charted it 2 months late and it powered nearly all the way to the top. Kenny is from Cleveland,Ohio.

77 Ride - Future Love #7
This is definitely shoegaze, but it has hints of 60s pop like late era 90s Ride, very dreamy as well.

76 Catfish and the Bottlemen - 2all #5
Catfish really are Catfish now, you just now them instantly, not much more to say a very epic Catfish song, almost Oasis like in fact.

75 Bring Me The Horizon - mother tongue #9
The big pop song of 'Amo' its an EDM monster, its only genre prejudice which stops a song like this being a huge hit. Really this should have given them their second top 40 hit. Yes 'Drown' reached #17!!!

74 Neck Deep - She's a God #8
Best song from Neck Deep for some time and its a standalone single, no sign of a new record yet although they have just relaesed a B Sides and extras record.

73 Teenage Wrist - Mary #6
More rock and this song is incredible, it is so 90s it hurts another big grunge song but it also has a feel of Deftones as well, which just makes it even better. The band are from LA, California, who says rock is dead in that country!

72 Fontaines D.C. - Boys In The Better Land #12
From one of the bands of the year and my top 5 albums of the year. This post punk anthem would have sounds great in 1979, 1989 or 2019. I loved band like this in the early 90s when Ireland had a strong scene and those days are well and truly back. Here is their Mercury Show.
