194. Swimming Girls - I Don't Wanna Get to Heaven Swimming Girls are an dark electro pop four piece from Bristol, you can always count on TheThorne to come across bands like this and I found them from him charting 1 2 Many but last month they announced via Twitter that after four years of working together they’ve decided to split to “follow new creative ideas”. Sad they split without releasing an album, would have bought it

191. The Menzingers - Anna Another American band that are becoming regulars in my chart but these are more Indie Rock with a punk edge, I think before they formed The Menzingers most of the members were in ska-punk/pop punk bands, they have 3 singles in my top 400 "Anna" #191, "America (You’re Freaking Me Out)" #210 and “Strangers Forever” #390 all from their 6th studio album Hello Exile which I will get round to reviewing at some point because I loved the singles from their last album too

190. MUNA - Number One Fan Not quite as good as the singles from their debut album, Crying on the Bathroom Floor, I Know a Place and Loudspeaker were fantastic but the American electronic pop band's second album doesn't come close to their debut with this being the pick of the singles

189. Dinosaur Pile-Up - K West Not sure how I missed this alternative rock band from Leeds until this year, they released their 4th album Celebrity Mansions in 2019 and it went down great especially "Back Foot" which was a huge hit for me and The Thorne, but K West deserves a mention too, another act I need to check out their back catalogue

188. Bastille & London Contemporary Orchestra - Can’t Fight This Feeling Bastille covered REO Speedwagon's 1985 ballad, 'Can't Fight This Feeling' for the 2019 John Lewis Christmas advert which was actually quite good, even though it was a late entry to my 400 it still made it pretty high up

186. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - A Dream Is All I Need To Get By The former Oasis man has been experimenting with new sounds and ideas in recent years and I think personally he is releasing some of the best music since the mid 90's

183. Mystery Jets - Hospital Radio Blaine Harrison and his band were back in 2019 with their most political singles to date, being disabled he has seen first hand the damage being done to the NHS and the band were clearly inspired by recent large protest marches in London, their new album has been delayed until 2020 after Blaine was hospitalised and required emergency surgery

181. Poppy - I Disagree It's been a rollercoaster of a year for Poppy, she started off the year releasing bubble-gum pop and ended up as a metal head releasing her version of kawaii metal, its so weird but it ticks all the boxes, interesting, hard hitting and has pop hooks, she releases her first metal album in January 2020.

178. Vistas - Like An American Edinburgh Indie pop outfit Vistas released 3 singles in 2019, my favourites being this and "Eighteen", they are just so catchy, I'm surprised they aren't bigger, they are yet to release a debut album, hopefully that will come in 2020

176. Ryan Adams - f*** The Rain This was a brilliant song from the now cancelled Big Colors album, which was due to be released April 19 after the New York Times allegations of sexual misconduct which I'm not going to get into, he is a straight guy who used his position to try and get laid which is a crime punishable by death of your career in 2019
