FERRY AID - LET IT BEAnother cover version, which hit the top of the charts following the Zeebrugge Ferry disaster. This reached number 14 in a three week blink and you miss it spell on our chart, with a paltry 153 points being given.

JACKIE WILSON - I GET THE SWEETEST FEELINGIt's a no show for Jackie Wilson on this list as well. Reet Petite’s points were spread across two years, its combined total is a respectable 621 points, but not enough in either year to make the Top 100. No such excuses for The Sweetest Feeling, with just 349 points it was a long way off the mark.

MICHAEL JACKSON AND SIEDAH GARRETT - I JUST CAN'T STOP LOVING YOUThe first number one for three years for Jackson on the Official Chart ends up just a single point shy of scraping into this countdown, with a disappointing number 7 peak on our weekly chart.

FREDDIE MERCURY - THE GREAT PRETENDERNo joy for Freddie Mercury on this list, this number four Official hit could make number 9 on our chart accumulating 327 points. His duet with Montserrat Caballe fared even worse, on just 271 points.

So, by my reckoning, that's seven official number one singles that haven't made our Top 100, I think this may be the most of any year so far. We were clearly re-writing history and taking much better songs to the top of the chart!
