Well this version with Dawn Upshaw was the one that made the charts but there are several versions available - including several budget ones. You're bound to find it in your local HMV or classical style no problem. If you ever do get it let me know what you think. ;D

I have on several occasions included it in my top 10 albums ever... Yes the Lamb song is inspired by Gorecki - although I don't think it samples it. Will check out at home though. That symphony no.3 was a rarity as it made the top 10 album chart in 1993 - which is astonishing for a classical record.

I have a few Classical Chillout albums - always a bit of Satie, Pachabel and Enio Morriconne plus Barber's Adagio for strings. I absolutely adore William Orbit's Pieces in a Modern Style album - it's a very trippy experience. I would also HIGHLY recommend Gorecki's Symphony no.3 (Symphony of Sorrowful songs). Extremely atmospheric and deep - it's very spiritually cleansing.

I like to think that it is all somehow a test or exam for what is to come after. Otherwise, what is the point of trying to do your best or having a sense of morality? But that probably is entirely down to the fact that I had a church background when I was a kid - these sort of things get instilled into you very successfully by religion! I actually think I believe that there isn't necessarily a point. I no longer believe in Heaven or anything like that and tend to er to the theory that our energy just passes into the world and sustains other forms of life at that time. It seems the most logical to me. I know that's not exactly what you were asking but I felt like being long winded I was expecting a one word random answer like rhubarb but thanks for that - very profound. I believe it's the process of living your life which is more important, and the way you do it is the only meaning that you can know... if you get what I mean.

Probably more mum! The cd fascination is definitely from my dad though. Er, I initially read cd in a Priscilla Queen of the Desert kind of way. Anyway, Fiona Apple has recorded three albums - 'Tidal', a beautiful, jazzy/blues album with an element of fierceness. Fairly commerical but showed what an astonishing talent she was. It sold over 4 million in the States but was unknown here. 'When the Pawn' in 99 which was less successful but fantastic, brilliantly crafted, arty songs - the jazz element is more sprawling here. Her third album 'Extraodinary Machine' was finished 18 months ago but has not been released by Sony because there's no single. This has inspired the Fiona online community to set up a 'Free Fiona' campaign. However, it has been leaked and you can listen to it now - it's brilliant, almost as good as 'When the Pawn'. I would recommend the title track and 'Not About Love' as the catchiest tracks there. Let me know what you think. www.geekdreams.com/mp3/fiona_apple/

;D Oh you should - the people are really interesting - they're psychotically Tori obsessed, viciously anti George Bush and loads of them are into Pagnism. What more can you ask for?
