Anastacia - Why'd you lie to me
Weeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 21
Apparently, this song first appeared on the US pressing of Anastacia's debut album, but was released as the third single from her second album in the rest of the world. It managed to peak at number 25 in UK. I would not say this is one of her best works, but it appealed to me back in 2002, which is why it took the top spot for 1 week!

Anastacia - You'll never be aloneWeeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 18 This was the 4th and final single in UK from Anastacia's second album. It took me by surprise since it has been one of my favourites on the album since its release. I used to be a sucker for ballads. It peaked at number 28 in UK and topped my charts for 1 week. So technically Anastacia had 5 number ones in a row (I had no idea Boom was a single until 2003, not a football fan, you see).

Anastasia Prikhodko - MamoWeeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 10 When it comes to Russia and Eurovision (or Russia in general), there just has to be some kind of controversy or drama. Always. This entry was no exception. She first auditioned to represent Ukraine, but in Ukrainian language and when she failed to be qualified, auditioned to represent Russia with the same song, but some lyrics were changed to Russian. A contest was held to choose the song for Eurovision 2009 and 3 artists made it to the final. I think most people thought that Valeriya would win because, well, that's who she is: an arrogant and just too proud. She didn't win and said that she was publicly humiliated. She didn't even congratulate the winner. It was live on TV and it was just hilarious. Drama at its best. Anyway, back to the song! At first I thought it wouldn't do too well after debuting at number 27, but music video really helped me change my mind. However, her performance was terrible. She is a much better singer from what I have seen. The song spent only 10 weeks on my chart (most Eurovision songs spent 2 to 7 weeks), so it's a good result.

Ani Lorak - Shady lady
Weeks at number 1: 2 Weeks on chart: 8
Another Eurovision entry and another number 1. Shady lady finished second at Eurovision Song Contest right behind Russia. I prefer Shady lady. Ani Lorak has had several number 1 songs on my chart, but they are in Russian and I have made a decision to skip all songs performed in Russian (or maybe I'll do it in the end). She has had 6 number 1 songs on my chart, this being one of them.

Anna Naklab featuring Alle Farben & YOUNOTUS - Supergirl
Week at number 1: 2 Weeks on chart: 16
Supergirl was originally released in 2000. It was covered in 2015 and caught my attention by a total accident - I was checking German charts on Youtube as you do and this song sounded different compared to the rest of top 10. It peaked at number 2 in Germany losing to another cover (Ain't nobody by Felix Jaehn ft. Jasmine Thompson) and wasn't released in UK (I understand why). It remains Anna's only hit to this day. 2 weeks at number 1 on my chart with 16 weeks on chart in total.

Annie - American cars
Weeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 13
Annie had a long break before this release - 7 years (except a few collaborations), but she did not disappoint this time around. American cars has this 80's electro synth pop feeling and while the album did not impress me at all, the lead single is rather amazing. It wasn't a commercial success and personally I think she is a bit underrated, but that's just my opinion. American cars debuted at number 1 on my chart and stayed at number 1 for 1 week. Unfortunately, there was no music video, but she performed it quite recently at Norwegian Grammy Awards where she won in Best pop album category.

Appleton - Don't worry
Weeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 21
Don't worry is the second single from Appleton's album Everything's eventual. First of all, I would like to mention that the album is one of my all time favourite albums, would end up easily in top 20. It's so well produced and I love how their vocals blend together. They have also performed these songs live and they are really good, but for some reasons UK audience wasn't that into them. Don't worry peaked at number 5 in UK and the album didn't do that well peaking at number 9 and disappeared from top 40 in just 3 weeks. Don't worry spent 1 week at number 1 because of the tough competition, but stayed in top 10 for 16 weeks! By the way I don't like the official video at all.

AQUA - Cartoon heroesWeeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 20 Oh my! What was I thinking? Cartoon heroes is the first single from AQUA's second album Aquarius. I was a hardcore AQUA fan back in the day, but after their second single from Aquarius all my love for them kind of faded away (I discovered Marilyn Manson). There are good songs on the album though! Plus, they have released a few albums more in the future with a totally new sound and image. But, let's go back to this single. It wasn't as successful as their previous singles or the album, but still went top 10 in UK peaking at number 7. It debuted at number 1 on my chart and spent 20 weeks in total.

AQUA - Good morning sunshineWeeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 15 This was the 5th and final single from Aquarium in UK and still it charted at number 18 which is quite impressive. It didn't even have an official music video, just the live performance of the song (or maybe that was the official video?). I really loved this album, I must admit (I was 13 ), but this song was always one of my favourites.

AQUA - Turn back time
Weeks at number one: 2 Weeks on chart: 18
Turn back time is the third single released in UK from AQUA's debut album. It was also a soundtrack to the movie Sliding doors which has probably helped it to get to number 1. I loved the movie and I loved the song since the album was released and when it became a single I was very happy. My everlasting dream was to visit London one day just to see the cute underground stations like in the video and it finally happened in 2019 (my friend could not get me out of there, I just enjoyed it too much!), but my lord I was too tall for the train haha. Brilliant song, was interesting to see AQUA as "a serious act" after all those bubblegum songs. I saw them live in 2017 and it was like another dream coming true. Unfortunately, they had some sound problems and had to skip 2 of my favourite songs: Turn back time and My mamma said. BUGGER! Lene was not happy. She used the f word too many times and said "This is what happens when you want to play a live concert!". Anyway, Turn back time, 2 weeks on top!

Ariana Grande - Breathin
Weeks at number 1: 4 Weeks on chart: 27
Breathin is the final single from Sweetener. According to some interviews, it's a song about anxiety and panic attacks that Ariana has been experiencing after the events in Manchester. It peaked at number 8 in UK and number 1 on my chart.

Ariana Grande - Into youWeeks at number 1: 3 Weeks on chart: 24 Into you reminds me of my ex-boyfriend. I met him a few weeks after this song was released. He worked in a gay nightclub and I would go there sometimes with friends and request Into you just for him and to dance around. All good things come to an end! The night club shut down, we broke up, but luckily music lives on! It charted at number 14 in UK, but in digital era this doesn't mean a thing as it has already been certified double platinum (streaming ). It debuted at number 1 on my chart and spent 24 weeks in total in top 30.

Ariana Grande ft. The Weeknd - Love me harderWeeks at number 1: 3 Weeks on chart: 19 Another poptastic tune from Ariana. It was the first single to top my chart (for both artists). It only managed to peak at number 48 in UK (I didn't know that before, I am totally shocked ). I wonder what was the reason? Not enough exposure or airplay? Anyway, it was number 1 on my chart (hot shot debut) for 3 weeks!

Ariana Grande - No tears left to cry
Weeks at number 1: 9 Weeks on chart: 42
This is serious! I have never really cared for Ariana, but this song just blew me away, especially the chorus! It is also my number 1 of 2018 and the most played song of 2018. It peaked at number 2 in UK and number 1 on my chart and stayed on top for 9 consecutive weeks spending 42 weeks in top 30 in total.

According to some interviews, it's a song about anxiety and panic attacks that Ariana has been experiencing after the events in Manchester. It peaked at number 8 in UK and number 1 on my chart. There are exactly two (possibly three if you include collaborations) that are 10/10 Ariana songs - this is one.
