Armin Van Buuren ft. Justine Suissa - Burned with desireWeeks at number 1: 1 Weeks on chart: 10 But you left me in the rain... What I love about trance music is that you can dance to it, but also feel a bit melancholic at the same time. It's like a certain level of euphoria. This was the first Armin's song that I actually really liked. It peaked at number 45 in UK and at number 1 on my chart for just 1 week. P.S I was actually quite shocked to learn that he only had 6 singles on the Official Singles Chart in UK.

Armin Van Buuren ft. Sharon Den Adel - In and out of love
Weeks at number 1: 1
Weeks on chart: 13
Ah, the memories! I heard this song just before my first trip abroad on my own ever! We flew to Amsterdam with a bunch of friends and they played this song everywhere. This song features Sharon Den Adel, the lead singer of Within Temptation and she delivers! I love her voice. It charted at number 198 in UK, but went to number 1 after the trip to Amsterdam on my chart.

I wonder what the third one is, she's had so many collaborations. I didn’t want to ruin your countdown by mentioning it, just in case it came up - but as you are passed Ariana now. Don’t Call Me Angel was the third. But yes, zero interest in her last album. |

Armin Van Buuren vs. Sophie-Ellis Bextor - Not giving up on loveWeeks at number 1: 2 Weeks on chart: 24 Fun fact: I have this single signed by Sophie! She was on tour in Finland and it was the only single I had (I have several albums on CD, but that single was probably the most recent release back then and I wanted to surprise her that there are still people out there buying CDs haha). This is also Sophie's first appearance on the list.  Anyway, it charted at number 165 in UK (geez) and number 1 on my chart for 2 weeks.

Armin Van Buuren ft. Christian Burns - This light between us
Weeks at number 1: 2
Weeks on chart: 15
Christian Burns was a member of the British band BBMak. In 2007 he got into dance music and has been releasing dance music ever since. This light between us is a great collaboration with strong emotional vocals. It stayed at number 1 for 2 weeks on my chart, but failed to chart elsewhere.

Aura Dione ft. Rock Mafia - Friends
Weeks at number 1: 1
Weeks on chart: 17
Aura Dione is a Danish singer-songwriter. Friends is the second single from her album Before the dinosaurs. I first noticed her while following German charts in 2011, she had a number 1 single there with Geronimo. Friends appealed to me more than the lead single. It charted at number 4 in Germany and number 6 in her home country. I don't think she was ever promoted in UK?! Please, correct me, if I am wrong. I think Friends would have been a great COVID anthem, if it was released now, especially if you look at the video. 1 week at number 1 on my chart with 17 weeks in total.

Weeks at number 1: 2 Weeks on chart: 22 I didn't care that much for Avril's first 2 singles and her attitude really put me off, but I'm with you touched my heart. It peaked only at number 7 in UK, but became her first number 1 single on my chart. |

Avril Lavigne - Innocence

Now, I am not sure if this was a single or wasn't, according to Wikipedia it was in some countries. Nevertheless, it debuted at number 1 on my chart the week it leaked, I loved it after the first listen, although OK rhyming with great and amazed sounds still a bit silly. I found a video related to the TV Show Buffy The Vampire Slayer, there was an episode called Innocence.

Another chart topper for Avril on my chart and a top 5 hit in UK peaking at number 5. I enjoyed the second album more than the debut although there are songs on the debut album that could have been singles.

Another ballad from Avril debuting at number 1 on my chart and giving her another top 3 hit in UK, peaking at number 3. The video is just too sad, I remember it made me cry when I saw it for the first time.

BANKS - Beggin for thread

Well, this is just such a good song. It still sounds just as good as it sounded in 2014. I discovered BANKS after hearing Waiting game (#2, 2014) on Grey's anatomy and was intrigued. It's a shame that she didn't get a commercial success. Maybe because of Lorde being around at the same time and their styles are quite similar.
