Same with Bradford in league 2, you pick the big teams, because they should be winning that league, but there's more to football than that

18 months I've been waiting for this. A fat mute bloke sat in my seat, an even fatter bloke sat behind me whose stomach pushed into my back, the smell of meat pies! An engaging close game, noisy away supporters and a good sized home crowd, a red card and a late late penalty winner! It doesn't get much better than this! Absolutely brilliant! God I've missed this!

Stop the count. Brighton are in the Champions League (on alphabetical order) and Arsenal are relegated.

The excitement for the new season lasted 20 minutes then, compounded by a bullshit decision to allow the second goal. Where was VAR? Missing when we need it, as usual.

I think it's called 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Striker was holding the gk, gk was holding the striker, therefore no foul.

I thought it was a foul but all Arsenal had to do was head a long throw out of their area and every man missed it, they just aren't very good, 8th last season flattered them, they were bottom half most of the season and haven't improved at all. Ben White got schooled by Championship players, guess that happens when you spend 50m on someone with a few dozen games in the Premiership. I've seen Arsenal tipped all pre season to come top 6 with an outside shot at top 4. Have to say they will be lucky to get 8th again!
The league looks to me to be split into 4 sections this season and I can't see anyone over achieving much maybe if they do really well can steal a few places
Top 5 City Utd Chelsea Liverpool Leicester
6-10 Spurs Everton Villa West Ham Leeds
11-15 Arsenal Wolves Brentford Newcastle Brighton
16-20 Palace Burnley Watford Southampton Norwich

I should point out this laughter isn't exclusively reserved for Arsenal. I will find it equally amusing when any of the six traitor clubs lose to one of the smaller teams.

Too many fans have forgotten 6 teams tried to ruin English football forever and only got a slap on the wrists
Makes you sick they all pleaded poverty then all went out and bought 50-100m players 🤣
Now the transfer market is f*cked for everyone else struggling with covid losses so nice to see greed and money hasn't won yet. Arsenal are a beacon of hope that no matter how much greed and money ruin football sheer incompetence alone is enough to restore a level playing field

I've lost track of the amount of times the BT commentator has talked about how Man United have got the Premier League off to a great start, opening day, blah, blah, blah, like Brentford v Arsenal didn't happen last night. I know it was on Sky (thier rivals) but to ignore Brentfords's achievement last night is very rude, but not totally surprising I guess. And Pogba seriously only got 3 assists all last season, that is shocking!

No doubt BT's excuse will be that the commentator was referring to the title race. I don't suppose any Brentford fans genuinely expect to be involved in that. Still a cracking game from Old Trafford though.

Marske beat Cleethorpes 2-0. Not the best game but we scored 18 seconds into the 2nd half. Linesman put his flag up for offside but was overruled by the ref, then Cleethorpes scored an own goal to make it 2-0. No midweek league game this week as were the odd team out in a 19-team division so next it's Pickering Town at home in the FA Cup.

Fabulous performance by Man U but the question mark remains over whether they will have the consistency to mount a genuine challenge for top spot.

Whitehawk drew 1-1 at Cray Valley. There's no midweek game and they get a bye in the FA Cup after Whyteleafe withdrew. The next game (which I should be able to go to) is at home to Sittingbourne on the 28th.

I'll start this off as my Dereham town fc season tickets arrived this morning in the post. Bring on August. I thought you supported Ipswich and they were going to walk League One this season by paying huge amounts for all the best players? There are 2 weeks left in the transfer window, so we'll see how a few of us can strengthen in that time.

Tottenham should cash in on Kane now. He doesn’t want to be there and they just did rather well without him today.

Yeah I know Spurs are one of the c*** clubs as well but let's face it, they're not winning anything.
