You could cut the Premier League in half if you kicked out the unfit owners, not many have been accused f being involved in chopping people up though

No, Newcastle fans are not responsible for their club's owners. However, the likelihood is that many of them (including Alan Shearer unless he has changed his mind) will simply be happy to see Ashley replaced by a consortium enriched by their relationship with the Saudi Arabian regime. That means being associated with a regime that thinks treating women as second-class citizens is giving them too much respect. A regime that considers the death penalty to be appropriate for homosexual acts. A regime that thinks the best way to deal with opponents is to murder them.
There are, indeed, a number of highly dodgy club owners already, including Abramovich. This, though, is a new low.

It would be a good thing but I cant see it happening, money and power attracts a certain type of person, the wolves have been let in, bit late now sadly

I wouldn't worry too much, a super league will happen and all those chasing that money will leave at some point, im pretty sure of it

I think if Newcastle win the Premier League in the next couple of years, a lot of their fans wouldn't care who owned them.
Same if they had won the league in the last 14 years, Ashley would be lauded.
Football fans are fickle.
All the other clubs with dodgy owners, do their fans take the morale high ground, or do they sing when they win?

I'm not that surprised Crystal Palace are doing ok this season, Conor Gallagher is a brilliant player and probably next season will be in Chelsea's first team - in fact they are possibly regretting letting him go out on loan yet another season, as although they are top of the league, they lost to Manchester City.
Also expect he will play for England soon. Not sure it will be in time for the next World Cup but Gareth Southgate certainly should take note. Compare his performance yesterday with that of Jack Grealish.
Conor Gallagher played for us (Charlton Athletic) 2 seasons ago when we made a very good start in the Championship. Only due to a large number of injuries did our form drop but he was pretty much carrying us through even that period, and then he left us in January and of course we ended up getting relegated.

This seems to have even caught the manager unawares as he was discussing the rest of the season in his post match interview
Daniel Farke sacked by Norwich City despite first league win of season
First Premier League win is a 'big relief' - Farke before learning his fate
Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke has been sacked hours after their first win of the Premier League season.
The Canaries won 2-1 at Brentford, but remain bottom of the Premier League with five points from 11 games.
Farke had led Norwich to promotion from the Championship twice since 2017.
"We feel now is the right time for a change to give ourselves the best opportunity of retaining our Premier League status," said sporting director Stuart Webber.
In Farke's post-match interview with BBC Sport, he gave no indication he knew he was about to lose his job.
"We definitely have a chance [of survival]," he said. "It's a long marathon. The longer we work together, the better we will be as a team. I can't guarantee we'll stay in the league but don't write us off."

^ Norwich winning today means that Newcastle are now bottom of the Pemier League as we could only draw with Brighton.
Edit: we are second bottom following our draw. The BBC Sports website hadn't updated the league table when I'd checked it earlier tonight. We were bottom for 2½ hours, until our match v Brighton had finished.

I wonder if Eddie Howe might take over at Norwich? He has been in talks to take over as Newcastle manage but the talks seem to have stalled for some reason. There have been rumours for the last few days about Howe taking over at Norwich. Perhaps he has already spoken to Norwich but couldn't comment about it? That said, he has been talking to Newcastle too so he must be a busy man if all this is true!

I think Eddie Howe would be mad to go to Newcastle. Leaving aside the moral issues, I don’t think he’d last beyond the end of the season. If they go down, he’ll be sacked. If he keeps them up, he will be cast aside in favour of a bigger name.

I agree. I also think Eddie Howe would be ideal for Norwich and when I read that Daniel Farke had been sacked his name immediately came to mind.

He did leave Burnley (after a vey short period of time there in between his two spells at Bournemouth) because his wife couldn't settle "up north" many moons ago, and rumours were he turned down the Celtic job for similar reasons. I wouldn't be surprised if he is weighing up his options He was at the Newcastle game today though which suggests its pretty much a done deal

There was also the fact that his mother died suddenly while he was at Bournemouth. He was affected quite badly by not being able to be with her through her short illness.

And Villa join the sack race...

I'm not surprised Villa have something like 38 points in the last 40 games and spent about 400m, that's relegation form over a pretty long period of time, they should be aiming a bit higher

Yet another ridiculous sacking.
Dean Smith is a Villa fan who turned them round in their hour of need, got them promoted to the Premier League, and established them as a bottom half but safe side. Yet as soon as he hits his first sticky patch in 3 years he gets his P45. Sure, 5 defeats on the spin is not good, but they're still outside the bottom 3 and there's plenty of the season left to bed in their new signings. What did the board expect when they sold their star player Jack Grealish for stupid money to sit on Manchester Citeh's bench.
Goodness me if that board were in charge of Liverpool FC, then Jurgen Klopp would have got the boot for their 6 defeats in a row last year.
It was not long ago they went to Old Trafford & won .... OK, that's not much of a big deal these days...
Still Villa's loss will be another club's gain, as Dean Smith wont have become a bad manager overnight.
I hope they join Newcastle United in getting relegated now.

Eddie Howe has been appointed as Newcastle's new head coach after being handed a 2½ year contract. Good luck!
