Welcome to Frank Edwin's 7/25/2021 Salad Bar Top 100 a weekly inclusive feast where we invite you to Chow Down on a fresh variety of tasty musical artist cuisine. Romaine Calm - Turnip the Beet - Find Inner Peas.
The Salad Bar started as a weekly 2 hour theme show in 2017 on college radio station KBGA at the University of Montana. This week we reach a special milestone as the music chart and playlist celebrates its first anniversary. A year ago we wanted to create a place to support music artists and those looking for inclusive content. We wanted to help others find music and artists that spoke to them, that they could relate to while being who they were without labels.
The very first music chart had only 17 songs on it with 9 more added to the playlist later in the week as songs “Waiting In The Wings.” We never imagined there would be a day like today when there were so many different individuals expressing themselves through music in an open and honest way. The Top 100 has just a small sampling of the artists worldwide that have music we enjoy sharing. We literally can't keep up with the number of new songs released weekly and new to us artists we are discovering on a daily basis from a plethora of sources. There are currently over 200 songs waiting to join the buffet.
Our first #1 was "The Key to Life on Earth" by Declan McKenna. It just so happens that Declan released a new music video this week for “My House” which joins the buffet this week.
Tuscan singer-songwriter La Luna has our first #1 Salad Song in their 14th week on the chart with “Siamo Scintille (We Are Sparks).”
La Luna shares, «It is a song that I care a lot in which I try to explain what the word "Love" means to me, of any form of love you speak of…We live in a society, in a world, and in a time in which everything is superficial…In a very particular historical moment, feeling part of something great, whether it is called love, sharing, whether it is called" planets "," baggage " or " sparks ", does not lose its value, indeed, it must be defended, protected and recognized.»

The pinnacle of this week's Salad Bar Top 100 brings a second #1 Salad Song to the mix with the poignant and moving "Kathleen" from Foxes; an ode to her grandmother.

Jake Trevor has been on the Top 100 for 16 weeks now with "You’ll Be Fine". This week we place a cherry tomato on top giving it the special designation of a #1 Salad Song. 🥗🌹
Jake moved to New York City, with a one-way train ticket, $40 in his wallet and only one goal: making music his life. Night after night of open mics and busking in the New York City Subway, he continues his musical journey with an urgency and passion to share his music with the whole world.
