A lot of terrific songs but I made a decision.

Easy choice, even if it's far from their best hits.

Easy choice, even if it's far from their best hits. I knew you would come here to vote for the Dooleys. Possibly the Pretenders but no chance you would vote for any of the others.

'Bat out of Hell' is one of the all-time best rock masterpieces, so I had to go for that really.

So back in 1979 Heart Of Glass had entered at #1, and two of the entries above didn't enter inside the top 40 so they didn't enter my chart until the following week.
In my chart originally, Meat Loaf, Elvis Costello and Queen all got to number one. Bat Out Of Hell is obviously a total epic, Queen took its time to get there.

Good to see Elvis Costello win. It was of course the biggest hit of the time among that selection, but wondered if it had stood the test of time given that many of those are now considered classics. No appeal for Darts with their Motown tribute (or tribute to "My Guy" by Mary Wells in particular) and I wondered if krescendo had voted he'd have gone for John Davis, the one "disco" hit in that list. (Not sure if he voted at all or for something else)
