Former England striker and Tottenham's record goalscorer Jimmy Greaves has died at the age of 81.
Greaves began his career with Chelsea before spells at AC Milan, Spurs and West Ham. He scored 44 goals in 57 games for England and was a member of the 1966 World Cup-winning squad. His holds the record for most goals in English top-flight football with 357, and scored 266 goals in 379 matches for Tottenham. Greaves' 41 goals in 1960-61 remains a record in a season for Chelsea, and he also holds the Spurs record with 37 in 1962-63.
After retiring as a player, Greaves moved into broadcasting and presented 'Saint and Greavsie', a football show with former Liverpool striker Ian St John, between 1985 and 1992.

R.I.P. now reunited with Ian St John who passed back in March
While his football career is a bit before my time, i remember him firstly from his TV reviews on TV-AM while getting ready for school lol and of course he's partnership with Ian St John on Saint and Greavsie
That episode where his Spitting Image puppet stood in for him

RIP.
Obviously I remember him most for his ITV Sport Saint & Greavsy double act; which with hindsight set the blueprint for Sky Sports Carragher & Neville double act. But he showed he had a great sense of humour when he turned up on a section by another football loving double act show, after they had taken the michael out of him on several occasions:

My dad told me many times how he was the greatest player he'd seen playing at St James' Park in Newcastle. I remember my dad telling me how he tore the Newcastle defence apart.
This is an example of just how good he was. It's the third goal in this game and it is absolutely brilliant.

It is sad news, but in some ways he did well to live as long as 81 as he abused alcohol at one point at the end of his playing career.
Then he went clean and is remembered by my generation for the "Saint And Greavsie" show.
