Harold is back now!
I wonder if they are going to split Jane and Clive up so she can get back with Mike at the end?

Best comment of the day yesterday (from Levi I think, when he was looking through Harold's album)..
"That Lucy loves a makeover, doesn't she. It's like she's 3 different people!"
Of course 3 actresses have played the youngest Robinson child over the years!"

I've returned to watch the last week's episodes and I'm watching the finale double episode now.

Scott & Charlene are driving a Mini Cooper with the identical colour scheme of my Mini Cooper.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

End of an era and good to see the old characters back in a fitting finale

Loved the last episode. Proper emotional especially at the very surprise appearances at the end.

I really enjoyed the final episodes, but Guy Pearce really outshone the other returnees. I don't know what the reason was for Kylie's lack of dialogue, but it felt like she wasn't really there.

Yes, it was very odd. One of my friends said that given she was such an outspoken character, it felt weird her being so silent. He theorised she demanded to be paid by the word of dialogue!

I thought the ending, with Susan's speech was really well done and a bit of a tear-jerker. Guy Pearce stole the show and Mike rekindling his love for Jane was really nice end to their storyline arc. As for the Scott & Charlene return, it was a bit inessential. But apparently there were some very ten good reasons for it. * In stark contrast Beth (Natalie Imbruglia) and Flick (Holly Valance) meeting for the first time in a park in London totally worked. {* Spoiler} Give the scriptwriters credit in the space of five months they have had to tear up & rush through their plans for this final year wrap up of storylines (they wanted Neighbours to see it out until December (when the actors/crew standard contracts come to an end), but Channel 5's owners or Freemantle, Australia would not cough up so the show ended 5 months early). So they could not execute the initial finale plan which was for Mike to comeback to Erinsborough to see his daughter working at Lassiters, spot Jane was back living in Ramsey Street, and rekindle their relationship with a planned final episode of Mike & Jane getting married. With Scot & Charlene as best man & bridegroom having returned to buy property in Ramsey Street a few weeks before the finale. As it was due to Covid regulations, and time constraints Jason Donovan only had six hours in Australia to film his scenes on Neighbours, as he was rehearsing for the Queen's 70th Jubilee Concert in London. So the scriptwriters quickly cobbled together something at very short notice, with limited cast availability (during that time Guy Pearce was only available for 2 hours). Charlene apparently had more lines, but Kylie felt her vocal delivery/accent was a parody of her former character so requested they were binned from the edit (Not a problem for Jason, as Scott voice was always exactly like Jason's in the show). Instead delivering a more quiet & more expressive facial performance.

The finale made South African news! Despite not actually being able to watch it here.
Mr Smurf didn’t realise that Nat and Holly were from the TV series - he just assumed they were Australian music artists by trade. State Of Mind was a big hit here.

Ah, I hadn't heard a few of those behind the scenes titbits. Explains a lot.

I just think Kylie should have made a few more comments so it didn't look so weird. Other than that they got the episode spot on.

I didn't know Delta Goodrem and Holly Vallance were in the show, but maybe after I stopped watching it, or minor characters I didn't connect when they became pop stars?

I didn't know Delta Goodrem and Holly Vallance were in the show, but maybe after I stopped watching it, or minor characters I didn't connect when they became pop stars? They were huge characters and Delta played Nina who became a famous singer in-show. Her debut real world single was part of the show. I'd argue neither would have had the level of success they had without Neighbours (especially Vallance!).

I guess after I stopped watching it then if they were in the show in 1999 and 2002, Neighbours was something I watched as a kid and then as a student, and then characters I liked probably left, or I had kids to look after and we watched Cbeebies instead

I stopped watching Neighbours in the early 90s.
I enjoyed the last ever episode. It was great to hear the old neighbours theme once again.
