73 Empire - Kasabian
Now we have the highest placed album from Kasabian, I dont know if its unusual this is my favourite but it is. This was their second album and its forever going to be part of me as the BNE is my email address and YouTube Channel stands for Brand New Empire. 'This record is where I got the name, my radio station at the time was BNE Radio and 'Empire' was like a march into a new age of music discovery. I of course carried this on into Spotify and YouTube.
Anyway this was their 2nd album and its another UK chart topper, a lot of them now. It only made #114 in the US but I didnt think they were much known their anyway. It is my 6th favourite album of 2006.

72 Hopes And Fears - Keane
Another album that keeps climbing up the list, I think I have it about right now. I played this album so much at the time, I really dont think their is a weak song on it, only reason I have it outside the top 50 is I dont listen to them much now. And again we have another #1 album in the UK, this one did better in the US reaching #45. It is my #8 album for 2004.

71 A Crow Left Of The Murder... - Incubus
Now we have a band who still have another record to come, I guess thats not very surprising. This was their 5th album and the last one I would call essentail, I still love a lot of their new music but this album was the last complete package. They really were at the peak of their international fame here as this album went to #2 in the US and even #6 in the UK. It is my 7th favourite album of 2004.

70 From Here to Infirmary - Alkaline Trio
Now we have one of the best emo pop/punk albums ever. This was their third album and defintely my favourite let my two singles which are both MTV2 classics. It was their first charting album but not as big a success as it really deserved, they get their with the follow-up. It reached #95 in the UK and only #199 in the US which is shocking. It is my #11 for 2001.

69 Eyes Open - Snow Patrol
This was Snow Patrol's fourth album, they still have one more to appear. Some of the rougher edges have been removed from their sound but they are still pretty much the Snow Patrol I love. Another band that was my favourite for a while but after this record, that drops off for sure. We are back to Uk chart toppers though and this reached #27 in the US as well. It is my 5th favourite album of 2006.

68 Blackened Sky - Biffy Clyro
It is not a shock to say that Biffy Clyro have more albums in the top 75 than any other act with four in total. Now though we go way back to their debut album which I didnt buy at the tim eof course I have it now. I did though buy 'Joy discovery invention' but they were jsut another Uk alt rock band that would have a hit in my charts and probbaly disappear back into obscurity again!! But the rest is eventually history and I love this album, its just a solid post-hardcore record with so much heart. Wikipedia call it post-grunge meh that makes me think of Puddle Of Mudd, they are way more complex than that. The album reached #78 in the UK but much better in their native Scotland with a #25 peak. It is now my 9th favourite album of 2002.

67 Mary Star Of The Sea - Zwan
One of two albums in the top 75 not on Spotify, the other has been, this though never. It is probably some complicated licensing reasons becuase if you dont know Zwan they were Billy Corgan's new band after Smashing Pumpkins split. I loved them they brought back the joy and energy that SP had been lacking recently but sadly they only made this one record. It reached #3 in the US and #33 in the UK. But its 2003 the best year in music since maybe 1987 so this only ranks #15 in my favourites.

66 Fever To Tell - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
And we stay in 2003, I was not a fan of Yeah Yeah Yeahs from the off but it didn't take long for me to be converted and if I hadnt been fully in, I was when I saw the video for 'Maps' for the first time. We have a new indie superstar here! One of the most beautiful indie songs of the 21st century and now I pretty much love everything on the album. This was their debut and in great timing we have them back this month so that was only going to help their placing here. The album reached #13 in the UK and #66 in the US and its my #14 for 2003.

65 Billy Talent - Billy Talent
There are a few songs that instantly make me think of MTV2 but few more so than 'Try Honesty'. Another band like Alkaline Trio that nailed emo but combining it with a harder edge and they just write such catchy songs and still do today. This was the Canadian bands debut album and although it didnt chart highly in most countries, it has sold a lot of records overtime. It reached #124 in the Uk and #194 in the US but massive in their native Canada where it reached #6. It is my #13 for 2003 but in reality the last 3 records are all 4s out of 5

64 Stars Of CCTV - Hard-FI
Another album I was obsessed with at the time and 'Hard To Beat' was in my top 5 songs of that year. There is a case for saying that this is the best Brit Pop album of the 00s what made it special to me was the production which has influences of 80s pop as well such as Prefab Sprout and The Specials. It was a UK chart topper and my 8th favourite album of 2005.

63 Sing The Sorrow - AFI
I had only known one song by AFI before this record and based on the lead singel for this album, I bought it straight away. They just have something a bit different post-hardcore with a gothic touch. Its also another album that I alwys enjoy all the way through. It reached #5 in the US and #62 in the UK. It another album from 2003 so this makes it my 12th. This album though it could still be big now.

62 100 Broken Windows - Idlewild
This is Idlewild's second album and the one where I really become a fan, although I did like many of their early singles and first album but this is when they go next level. They still have an album to appear though much higher! This reached #15 in the UK. It i smy 7th favourite album of 2000.

61 Black Holes and Revelations - Muse
It was a close call between my top two Muse albums but their forth album comes in as my second place, think it drops off a little until you get 'Knights...' at the end. It was a UK #1 and US #9. I feel I am not a MUse fan as such but this still is my 4th favourite of 2006.

60 Carnavas- Silversun Pickups
We stay in 2006 with my 3rd favourite album of that year and again its big single is a MTV2 classic. Silversun Pickups were jsut what I needed , a band that filled that Smshing Pumpkins whole, all the feels and vibes of that band without all the drama. This was their debut album and I still play it a lot. This is their biggest selling album in the Uk eventhough it only reached #161, it went gold in the US were it just reached #80.

59 Weezer (Green) - Weezer
Another controversial decision maybe but this is my favourite Weezer album the 00s. It is teh most consistent for sure and on eof their best songs. It reached #4 in the US and #31 in the UK. It is my 10th favourite album of 2001.

58 New Found Glory - New Found Glory
No NFG in the top 50 but I think thats fair enough as they are totally a singles band and self-titled is the record thats most special to me as its the first I heard. One of the best pop punk records ever their second album reached #107 in the US. It is my 6th favourite album of 2000.

57 Lateralus - TOOL
Now we go from an album I first heard in 2000 to an album I only heard about 4 years ago for the first time. I knew TOOL for the creepy weird videos on MTV2 but I never bought any of their music. Not sure if its the right opinon but 'Lateralus' is my favourite album. It was a US #1 and reached #16 in the UK. It is now my 9th favourite album of 2001.

56 Give Up - The Postal Service
Now we have the only and only side project from the Death cab guys, where they go all electronic. This album passed me until Pitchfork etc kept saying Owl City was ripping off their sound, so I ordered teh album of the back of that and never regretted it, I did know the two singles but they really didnt do as well as they deserved for me. This labum raeched #45 in the Uk and its my #11 for 2003.

55 I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose - Bombay Bicycle Club
Another band I wasn't instantly into, I will go onto to love them much more in the 10s but a lot of their debut album still stands up, with a couple of classics. Their album reached #46 again this will improve with later records. But we are in a weird time and somehow this is my 2nd favourite album of 2009.
