Was waiting till voting closed but I can't wait any longer
493 Before the Dawn Heals Us - M83
This was the album they had out when I saw them live. this was their third record and their most accessible yet with a bit more of a shoegaze influence over the electronica. It did chart in the Uk but only at #166, but that would probbaly have made it top 20 in this age, in 2005. Highlight there are so many but it has to be
M83 - Teen Angst
492 The Photo Album - Death Cab for Cutie
And they just got a mention in the HF thread and this was the album they had out in the early 00s era. This was their third album and they are still very underground on an indie label so the album didnt chart but they had 3 singles from thsi album that all made the Uk top 150 so again showing their was a buzz starting to form around them.
Death Cab For Cutie - A Movie Script Ending
491 Raise The Alarm - The Sunshine Underground
One of the best bands from the beginnings of New rave along with The Klaxons and in many ways thsi album as aged better than a lot of that stuff. As I was saying in the HF thread, if I had stuff lik ethis to play as an indie DJ I woudl never have quit those damn 2000-2001 years new acoustic, depressing indie ballad era. This is a party record. Their debut album was released in 2006/
The Sunshine Underground - Commercial Breakdown
490 Gold - Ryan Adams
Whatever you think about Ryan Adams as a person, he released so much graet music in the 00s. This was his second album with more of a countrtty feel than a lot of his later music and the one which the whole world sat up and noticed him. Released in 2001 and Grammy nominated in 2002, it includes some of my favourite songs of his. It reached #59 in the Us and #20 in the UK.

Just realised I put them all in one post nm
489 Getting Away With Murder - Papa Roach
This was their 4th album relaesed in 2004 and the last one I bought of theirs, a mixture of cutting back on albums and I felt I was not such a fan anymore just buying them as I bought the last two. I dont think they have doenm any better since so a right decision. I listened to this last week and it pretty much just washed over me. The titekl track was maybe their last great single but otherwise its pretty samey.
It reached #17 in the US and #30 in the UK

488 Fast Times At Barrington High - The Academy Is...
This one though was better than I expected. With only one hit I thought I wont know these but I really must have played this a lot. Top notch pop punk. It was theirt third album but biggest hit in the US reaching #17 in 2008.

I think I preferred the first two Academy Is... albums over this one, but About A Girl is good. I carried on with Papa Roach four albums longer than you did To Be Loved, Lifeline and Leader Of The Broken Hearts all great songs past GAWM (although it depends if you like Scars or not... I do.)

487 Wall Of Arms - The Maccabees
A real step up from their debut album but I think their next album was even better. Maccabees never really got the fame they desrerved a bad time to be in a UK indie rock band, although they will get a number one record in 2015. It reached #13 in the UK in 2009.

486 Blinking Lights and Other Revelations - Eels
I love and own nearly every Eels album, this was his 6th made over 6 years and hence its very long. Its really good but the length means I have struggled to really give it enough attention. It reached #16 in the Uk and #93 in the US in 2005. This is one of his best singles.

485 I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love - My Chemical Romance
This sneaked in, I never bought it or heard it at the time, I was pretty late to the MCR party actually think Earl Purple was charting them before me, I always found them more punky than an emo band, still not sure why they have that label as for me 'Black Parade' is the only record that coems close to emo and even that has goth overtones. But like many of the records I played this last week and it was really good but will never be a favourite. It reached #129 in the UK in 2009, it was released in 2002. 484 Mezmerize - System Of A Down
Ok a quick bit of retooling here, I missed that System Of A Down had two albums in 2005 although they both went to number one in the US, this was the better one so sorry 'Hypnotize' had to kick you out. This makes sense as I really wasnt feeling 'Hynotize' when I played it last week. 'Mezmerize' also got to #2 in the UK

Mezmerize definitely the better of the two, I'd have it pretty high up. Hypnotize would make it in as well though, purely for Soldier Side.
I've never been keen on the first MCR album, but I do like Early Sunsets Over Monroeville.

I will look up MCR when I get home. I recall charting I'm Not Okay (I Promise) a few months before it was a UK hit but may have charted them even earlier.

Somehow I missed The Academy Is... liked the song you shared.
I'd have 'Before The Dawn Heals Us' quite a bit higher, probably the Death Cab album too although I prefer their later ones; I'm guessing more to come from them.

I have been struggling a bit with things but now I'm back, hopefully, feeling well enough to continue this anyway
483 Easy Tiger - Ryan Adams
Another appearance on this for Ryan with his 9th album. He still has one more to come much much higher up. But this is really good as well with some of his best songs on it and probably for me anyway his defining record, the one still to come is a bit off piste for him but thats why I loved it so much. It reached #7 in the US and #13 in the UK in 2007.

482 Oblivion With Bells - Underworld
Another second best record for the decade. You can only really describe their 7th album as an Underworld album. Nothing brilliant, nothing bad just what you expect. It reached #45 in the US and #169 in the US in 2007 so not that big a hit either.
Underworld - Crocodile

481 Super Extra Gravity - The Cardigans
This one is only so low as I never spend that much time with it, really enjoyed it last week, it is very summery and chill, like their pre 'Gran Turismo' stuff although not as twee. The album was quite poorly recieved and this their 6th album was their last. It reached just #78 in the UK in 2005.

480 A Grand Don't Come for Free - The Streets
First of I have to say I can only take this album in small doses, in fact id say the same with the debut as well but to a lesser extend. I do find Mike Skinner quite exhausting in his cockneyness. But you just can't knock the music and one of the best rappers to come out of the UK. This was a UK number one and #82 in the US in 2004. Which song the big hit, the funny one or the class one, lets go class!! parental advised!!

I love the first two Streets albums, both incredible. Quite like Everything Is Borrowed as well, but the third album just felt like he was trying to redo the first two, but badly.

479 Modern Guilt - Beck
This album was a little disappointing, it just doesnt have enough fun or stand out tracks but its solid enough and within the lower 40s for its year would be about right. His eleventh album did do really well though #4 in thE US and #9 in the UK in 2008

478 In Love and Death - The Used
So many second albums in this batch. I think The Used are very underrated and a bit forgotten. The kind of emo rock they did shoudl have made them much bigger than it did. But they were doing well in the US , this album reached #6 in the US and #105 in the UK in 2004.
Anyway check this single and video. It has the same aesthetic as a Panic video but this came first and sounds like MCR meets Saves The Day. Also the special edition of this album has a brilliant cover oif 'Under Pressure' with MCR.
