KIGH - Smart Casual, another one that'd be very high up in my list, I listened to that album SO much.

580 America's Sweetheart - Courtney Love
These numbers seem big but you have to think 580 means its still in the top 60 albums for that year quite probably so very good. This was Courtney's debut solo album, I know it has a fan here. Released in 2004 it reached just #56 in the UK and #53 in the US. Really should have done better than that, 'Mono' is a total tune.
579 Chutes Too Narrow - The Shins
This is only so low as I haven't listened to as much as their other albums and liked 90% of people in the UK, I dscovered The Shins through 'Juno' 4 years after this came out and I didn't buy this one, I went back to the debut. Will try and give it more attention. The album raeched #82 in the Uk and #86 in the US.
578 No Roots - Faithless
With their fourth album Faithless are still releasing good stuff even if the big hitters are starting to wane. Released in 2004 it got to number one in the UK.
577 False Smiles - Amy Studt
Remember her? She was pretty much the Uk's answer to Avril Lavigne and this was a good album, a bit top heavy but those first three songs could rival any other singer/songwriter around at that time. Just great pop/punk. It went to #16 in 2003 in the UK.
576 Talkie Walkie - Air
Air' s third album and I liked this one although not anywhere close to their debut. The 2nd album missed the cut. It reached #2 in the UK and #61 in the US in 2004.
575 The Bedlam in Goliath - The Mars Volta
This was their fourth album and as usual not an easy listen, Mars Volta were really an acquired taste. One of their 00s albums missed out as it was just too weird, this though has soem graet tarcks but they have betr albums to come. It reached #3 in the Us and #42 in the UK.
574 The New Fellas - The Cribs
I have got back into them recently wasn't a big fan at the time but they were better than a lot of the landfill around this time. This was their second album, it only got to #78 in the UK
573 Takk... - Sigur Rós
This was their fourth album and their commercial breakthrough, yes it has that song on it. I knew them before but I never really paid them much attention until now. Released in 2005 it reached #16 in the Uk and #27 in the US.
572 A French Kiss in the Chaos - Reverend And The Makers
Liked this band, this was their 2nd album which didn't do as well as their debut, which will follow much later. It reached #19 in the UK in 2009
571 Silent Cry - Feeder
First appearance of many for Feeder on the list and this is defintely their weakest record, it was their 6th album, and it is a bit of a runt of the litter even Radio 1 deserted them. Even their recent comeback albums are better than this one. It still got to #8 in the UK in 2008.

Mono is fantastic.
Really liked the Amy Studt album at the time too.

Embrace 'Out Of Nothing' is fantastic. Literally everything on it could have been a single, and I actually prefer it to any Coldplay album.

I don't know how "Mono" wasn't a big hit, it's my main contender for SOTY from 2004 year. Also I had a thought to take Hole\Courtney in Haver Factor.

570 St. Elsewhere - Gnarls Barkley
More to this album than just 'Crazy', it is a pretty solid listen all the way through. Created by Cee Lo Green and Dangermouse , it was a UK number one and US #4 in 2006.
569 Angels With Dirty Faces - Sugababes
I now it is cool to love their debut but this is my favourite Sugababes album, it just has so many great pop tunes. But yes 'One Touch' was very close to making the list, didn't help that I never bought it and I only really love 'Overload'. Anyway this one was a UK #2 in 2002.
568 All The Plans - Starsailor
This was their 4th album and last before they reformed in 2017. 'On The Outside' missed the cut it just doesnt resonate we me at all now. This wasn't their best record either mind you. It reached #26 in 2009.
567 Make Another World - Idlewild
Yes quite low for an Idlewild record don't worry most of the rest will be much higher. This was their 5th album and not one I have really returned to, not a bad record but why would you listen to this over the others. 'Post Electric Blues' missed completely mind you. This album raeched #24 in 2007 in the UK.
566 Life On Other Planets - Supergrass
This was the last Supergrass album I bought and the last good one really. Think I was still a fan in 2002 mind you. This album reached #9 in 2002 in the UK.
565 D-D-Don't Don't Stop the Beat - Junior Senior
Oddly this is the song that started this whoie thread, I was at work and I needed a pick me up so I stuck on 'Move Your Feet' which just set me into a full blown 00s mix, think it was about 3 hours hehe. And yes 'Move Your feet' is brilliant but the whole album is a lot of fun. It reached #29 in the Uk in 2002 and #94 in the US.
564 Loose - Nelly Furtado
I do prefer her first two albums they are still to come but I was ok with this, not a sound I was really into but its still Nelly, didnt mind Timbaland really much worse rnb out there at the time. It was a US number one and reached #4 in the UK.
563 All the Right Reasons - Nickelback
I know I know, 'Rockstar' is horrible but I actually liked Nickelback and at first I loved them, as you will see as we go up the list. I will not hear a bad word about 'Silver Side Up'. This was their 5th album and second of three on the list. After this record it was just too hard to do it anymore. It reached US number one and a UK #2, so I wasnt the only one ok!!
562 Alphabetical - Phoenix
Phoenix released 4 albums in the 00s, this was their 2nd album, I never heard their debut. This album featured their first top 75 hit, 'Everything Is Everything' but the album failked to chart in 2004 but was a hit in mainland Europe.
561 Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation - Funeral For A Friend
Another band that I think that gets forgotten, the internet is very US centric and I think YouTube especially forgets how much great hardcore came out of the UK in the early 00s and FFAF were one of the best. This was their debut album and raeched #12 in the Uk in 2003. Need to give this a full listen as its so similiar to stuff I listen to now!!

560 Sounds of the Universe - Depeche Mode
This was their 12th album and its another solid record, not amazing, not bad just more of what we like. It reached #2 in Uk and #3 in the US in 2009. 'Wrong' was a great single though.
559 Uh Huh Her - PJ Harvey
A pretty alternative entry for P J Harvey with this one, not many MTV2 bangers but I still love her voice and the feel of this record even though it doesnt have any real singles. It reached #12 in the UK and #29 in the US in 2004.
558 Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts - M83
Another HF act, can't say too much but what I will say is my best mate when I lived in Perth, took me to see them and they just blew me away think it was just after their 5th album we will see that later. This was their 2nd album and its just so atmospheric. It only charted in France in 2003.
557 Standing in the Way of Control - Gossip
This is one of those records that you feel has to be here but I can only take the Gossip in small doses so are they an album act? Anyway you cant knock the tunes on this. Another album that captures the sound of the time, it reached #22 in 2006.
556 Bleed Like Me - Garbage
They were once my favourite band but by their 4th I was starting to fall out of love with them, its stil a good record just not as good as any of the previous records but if this was a new bands debut I woudl probably have been raving about it. So 'Bleed With Me' its just a bit neglected I guess. It still reached #4 in the UK and US in 2005 so they were still a big deal.
555 I Created Disco - Calvin Harris
Around this time two amazing DJs came out of Scotland, Calvin Harris and Mylo, which one looked like being a worldwide superstar yes Mylo!! How funny things work out. This was a really fun electro pop record but it was almost a novelty, don't think we saw the next record coming at all. It reached #8 in the UK in 2007.

No surprise that FFAF would be very high on my list. I'm going to see them next month, my first gig in a very long time.
Bleed Like Me is great, although Beautifulgarbage is the better 2000's album from them.

A few to comment on from the last few batches:
586 Under Rug Swept - Alanis Morissette I was reminded of this when 'Hands Clean' came up in the 2000s knockout! Haven't played it in ages; it's not 'Jagged Little Pill' but still some decent songs.
585 Cast Of Thousands - Elbow I loved this album when it came out but honestly I don't listen to it much any more.
577 False Smiles - Amy Studt Never heard the album but I do remember her, I was obsessed with 'Under The Thumb'!
574 The New Fellas - The Cribs I have this one and another album of theirs, I think I prefer the other one (again possibly to come in your list)
573 Takk... - Sigur Rós This one would be very high up in my own list; I don't play it so much any more but it was the album that introduced me to the band and I absolutely loved it for a very long time. 'Glósóli' is my favourite track on there.
571 Silent Cry - Feeder Not much to say in disagreement; this is the album where I started to lose interest in them for a good few years but happily they've produced some much better stuff since then.
567 Make Another World - Idlewild Edited to add as I missed this one! Liked it quite a bit when it came out and still more than some of their recent ones, but it's not close to being my favourite. 'If It Takes You Home' and 'A Ghost In The Arcade' are both crackers. Their best record remains 'The Remote Part' which I expect to see much higher up than this!
558 Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts - M83 Don't want to say much either because of HF but I do really like this album. This is one of three albums of theirs I'd put quite high in my own corresponding list if I did one.
I will have heard those two Depeche Mode albums as my partner is a huge fan, but I don't recall them at the moment. They definitely peaked in the 80s for me.

554 30 Seconds To Mars - Thirty Seconds To Mars
Another band I was really into until I wasn't, they just changed their sound too much. Not sure many of you have heard the debut album but its quite different. Mixing hardcore and industrial sounds, it was way heavier than any of the music that will follow. Its almost Korn at times. It reached #107 in the US in 2002.
553 Diorama - Silverchair
Silverchair pretty much passed me by but got into them recently thanks to compling old charts. This was a number one in Australia but only #91 in the Uk and US.
552 Quicken The Heart - Maximo Park
Not loving this album as much as the first two records they will be much higher but its still good. It reached #6 in the UK in 2009
551 Faded Seaside Glamour - Delays
Now a really strong debut album which probably means a lot to some people. It was just full of dreamy indie pop. This album was their most successful with the hits 'Long time Coming' and 'Nearer Than Heaven'. It reached #17 in the UK

550 O - Damien Rice
Wan't sure where to place this as I was pretty much obsessed with it at the time, its one of the ulimate 00s singer songwriter records but I only really listen to 'Cannonball' now. It reached #8 in the UK in 2005.
549 The Art Of Losing - American Hi-Fi
We havent had any pop punk for awhile. This was American Hi-Fis 2nd album, their debut will be much higher. This is still really good though especially the title track and MTV2 anthem. It reached #80 in the US in 2003
548 I To Sky - JJ72
They didnt last long but they burned very brigtly. This was also a second album and of course their brilliant debut will be much higher. Just great to finally have them on Spotify. This album reached #20 in the UK. JJ72 area band you really shoudl; listen to if you haven't, a proper indie band.
547 The Eminem Show - Eminem
First of two albums for Eminem in the list proper, i am very up and down with Eminem some songs I love others I hate but this album has defintely more great songs than most. Like 'Sing For The Moment' and 'Without Me'. It was of course a Uk & US charttopper.
546 Strays - Jane's Addiction
What a comeback, can you believe it was 13 years since 'Ritual..' and it will be another 8 years until they follow this one. One comment I see from a reviewer was 'Better than anyone could have predicted' I'll agree with that. With Dave Navarro back from his time at Red Hot Chili Peppers, this album reached #4 in the Us and #14 in the UK.
545 And Then Boom.. - Iglu & Hardly
Now a band that seems to have removed itself. You can't find their official videos or music on Spotify. 'In This City' was one of my songs of the year in 2008, they were like a surfer MGMT. This whole album was good but the hit just shines above everything else. It reached #5 in the UK in 2008!! #5!!! Wow...the album didn't chart though.

544 Horehound - The Dead Weather
Another Jack White side project, this time with Alison Mosshart, The Kills and Dean Fertita (QOTSA) and Jack Lawrence of Raconteurs and City Abnd Colour. The album raeched #6 in the US and #14 in the Uk in 2009.
543 Take Off Your Colours - You Me At Six
A band who will be much bigger in the 10s, they were barely on my radar then although they had a couple of hits in my chart. Released in 2008, it went to #25 in the Uk and #61 in the US.
542 Dear Catastrophe Waitress - Belle and Sebastian
Highest entry for them in the 00s and this is probably their most pop album. It reached #21 in 2003 in the UK and #84 in the US.
541 Thunder, Lightning, Strike - The Go! Team
Similiar to The Avalanches who will appear later Go! Team made a great record made of samples although in a much more lo-fi way recorded with 4 tracks in his garage and kitchen. They will come a proper band later. This album reached #48 in the UK in 2005.
540 Demolition - Ryan Adams
Ryan Adams is very prolific in the 00s and he has 5 albums on this list, he could have had more, he released 10 in this period. This album comes in here as I just havent listened to it anywhere as much as the albums released on either side which are of course still to come. It went to #22 in the Uk and #26 in the US

A few more there that I have or know.
550 O - Damien Rice I have a ripped copy of this from a friend at university. He passed away over a decade ago so I gave the album a wide berth after that, with the exception of 'The Blower's Daughter' which is just such a stunning song.
548 I To Sky - JJ72 Not sure I recall this, need to play it again but I remember the debut of course. Great band, shame they didn't last longer.
542 Dear Catastrophe Waitress - Belle and Sebastian I have this one - again, long forgotten and neglected. I think I bought it on the strength of 'Step Into My Office, Baby' but it's very typical of a style of indie pop I just don't like as much now as I did back in the 00s. 'I'm A Cuckoo' is still great, however!

539 lovehatetragedy - Papa Roach
Their third album and follow up to their breakthough hit 'Infest' , it will appear later. This album is really good as well but liek many on thsi list havent polayed ita ll thew ay through in years. I am planning to do that with the top 500 even if i skip though some but tehy all will get at laest 30 seconds ideally everything. This raeched #2 in thE Us and #4 in the UK.
538 The Chronicles of Life and Death - Good Charlotte
Another third album and another one that follows a breakthough. Thsi raeched #3 in the Us and #30 in the UK.
537 Justice - Justice
And now something completely different, not as big a fan of Justice as Daft Punk but this album is pretty storming. Thsi was their debut album and it reached #49 in 2007 in the UK.
536 This Is The Life - Amy Macdonald
Now another debut album this time from a Scottish singer/songwriter, so many greats songs on this especially the title track. It was a UK number one in 2007.
535 Farm - Dinosaur Jr.
Dinosaur Jnr not as good as they were in the 80s and 90s but still supporting them and checking out everything they do. Not a bad record really it reached #29 in the US and #80 in the UK.

534 Take A Look In The Mirror - Korn
More Korn and as I said already I dont own any, really need to sort that sometime. This was their 6th album and it was still very big in US where it reached #8 but just #53 here in 2003.
533 Up At The Lake - The Charlatans
Charlatans again outside the Top 500 just not crazy for most of their 00s output but they still have two albums to come. This reached #13 in the Uk in 2004.
532 Vespertine - Björk
Think this was teh last Bjork album I really enjoyed, I did buy 'Volta' but it was way down #627. Think this album is closer to the Sugarvubes stuff than the previosu albums much weirder and less pop. It reached #8 in the Uk and #19 in the US in 2001
531 De Stijl - The White Stripes
A rare case of going back to an album before I knew about them. Never bought this one, it way bluesier and I dont think you could have predicted they woudl be one of the biggest bands in the world in 3 years although 'Hello Operator' certainly drops some hints of whats to come. It went to #137 in the UK
530 Young For Eternity - The Subways
Maybe thanks to White Stripes, Uk bands certainly got on board with this sound and Subways were one of the better ones. This maybe has a case to be higher just I didnt know the album that well, I bought the singles only but what singles!! This their debut album reached #32 in the UK in 2006.
