477 Battle for the Sun - Placebo
We are already starting to come out of the filler or also rans. This was Placebo's 6th album and the last I really enjoyed although I am feeling good about what I have heard from their new record in 2022. It reached #8 in the UK and #51 in the US in 2009.

476 Duke Pandemonium - Marmaduke Duke
First entry for a Biffy related project. The debut album failed to make the cut but this 2nd album did for sure. Much more pop than Biffy Clyro at the time but I feel they have stepped a bit closer to this sound since. Most well known for 'Rubber Lover' of course this is more than a novelty record, it is q great indie pop record reminds me of Foals a lot actually. It reached #14 in 2009. But anyway it had to be..

475 American Adventure - The Electric Soft Parade
And guess what its another second album from the British indie rock band. Another band who deserved to be bigger than they were, kind of the middle ground between Elbow and Feeder. So I actually expected this to be much bigger than their debut but it wasnt only getting to #46 in the Uk in 2003.

474 Dear Science - TV On The Radio
First up a bit of an oversight I missed their 2004 debut album 'Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes' from the list, easily done as I only had a single from it and I bought their 2nd and third albums. I know its meant to be really good so sorry for that. But anyway this was their 3rd record and it was still pretty successful although no hit singles although I see their single success was not as good as I thought it was much more of an album band. This reached #12 in the US and #33 in the UK in 2008.

Really like 'Dear Science' though I haven't played it in ages! 'Duke Pandemonium' was definitely a favourite of mine and got a lot of plays the year it was out. I think I entered 'Kid Gloves' into a contest here and it bombed that's probably my favourite from that album though it doesn't have the catchiness of 'Rubber Lover'. Also led me into a brief foray exploring Sucioperro who I hadn't heard of before won't tread on your toes by sharing the video in case you have them to come, but I still love 'The Drop'.

I think I only got as far as 'Random Acts of Intimacy' but this is the best song of theirs I've heard:

473 Off With Their Heads - Kaiser Chiefs
Not sure if it was just the mood I was in, but really didnt feel this at all, probably should be even lower but yes not close to the quality of their first two records. But still a big hit of course reached #2 in the Uk and #55 in the US in 2008.

Ok as I am nearly back to normal, lets get this going again.
472 Ocean Eyes - Owl City
No wonder I stopped when I got to this, it really wasn't the sound to go with the time. So yes I dropped this about 20 places but really think its lucky to be this high. It was Owl City's second album and of course is worldwide breakthrough reaching #7 in the Uk and #8 in the US. I do love this video though.
471 Shoot From The Hip - Sophie Ellis-Bextor
I have been a fan of Sophie since she was in Theaudience I can listen to her sing anything. This was her 2nd solo album and its jsut full of pop gems. It reached #19 in the Uk in 2003. The song below hit hard when I played the album 2 weeks ago.

470 No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls - Simple Plan
Always more of a singles band for me but I really enjoyed this album, nothing groundbreaking but it does excatly what you hope. This was the Canadian band's debut album and reached #35 in the US in 2002
469 Appeal To Reason - Rise Against
Another album I never played till recently but again its great, I am probably more into Rise Against now than I was back then. This was their 5th album released in 2008. It reached #3 in the US and #68 in the UK.

468 Kingdom Of Rust - Doves
First of four entries for Doves and to be honest they are all great just some mean more to me than others. This was their fourth album and was released in 2009. It reached #2 in the Uk and #89 in the US.
467 The Sophtware Slump - Grandaddy
Not actually a slump at all, much prefer this to their debut but their third album I prefer just a little more but really nothing between them. Released in 2000 it reached #36 in the UK.

466 Journal for Plague Lovers - Manic Street Preachers
The lowest album for Manic Street Preachers on the list but I actually enjoyed this way more than I expected, really dont think I gave it very much time. So I have maybe assessed this harshly, I have a feeling I might like an album still to come a little less but nevermind. The album reached #3 in the UK in 2009.
465 Spend The Night - The Donnas
I didnt buy this one but I really enjoyed it, barely a weak song on the record. This was their fifth album and was released in 2002. It reached #60 in the US.

464 We Don't Need To Whisper - Angels & Airwaves
The debut album from Tom Delonge's side project. I found it a bit samey playing it today, its good but just not very exciting. It raeched #4 in the US and #6 in the UK in 2006. 463 Sea Change - BeckThis was a Beck album that I really didn't like at that time, too slow, too country, too chilled but today I quite liked it, not on par with msot of his other 00s albums but I can see the appeal now. His eighth album it reached #8 in the US and #20 in the UK in 2002. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2e8fxfvqu6M&ab_channel=Beck-Topic

462 Dead Letters - The Rasmus
I notice they are doing very well in Daz's chart at the moment but we go back to the record where it all started for them. This was their 5th album but their breakthrough in the Uk thanks to the monster hit 'In The Shadows'. It reached #10 in the UK in 2003.
461 Sumday - Grandaddy
I said we wouldnt have to wait long for their 3rd record. This was their biggest hit album and raeched #22 in the UK in 2003.

460 Black Cherry - Goldfrapp
Second highest entry for Goldfrapp on the list but really they are pretty much equal both close to top 40 of the year quality.'Black Cherry' was released in 2003 and reached #18 in the UK.
459 Send Away The Tigers - Manic Street Preachers
All these Manics albums a bit lower than I expected but I guess I am not as in to them as I once was. This is a good one though with lots of strong singles and songs. It reached #2 in the Uk in 2007.

458 Fantasies - Metric
First of two albums for Metric on this list, this was their 4th album released. their 2nd official album will appear later. the album reached #76 in the US in 2009.
457 Billy Talent III - Billy Talent
First appearance of three for Billy Talent on the list, all their albums are great but I do have a favourite. This their third not surprisingly reached #35 in the UK and #107 in the Us in 2009. It was a Canadian chart topper though.

456 Exciter - Depeche Mode
The highest placed album fopr Depeche Mode in the 00s and I actually liked this even more than I though so it has climbed quite a bit. This was their tenth album and reached #9 in the UK and #8 in the US in 2001.
455 Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends - Coldplay
First of four entries for Coldfplay on the list and this is by far the lowest placed, pretty much the start of the decline for the band but still good but apart from for this , no reason to return to it above the previous three records. It was of course a worldwide number one in 2008.

'Lost!' is one of my favourite Coldplay songs. That was the last album of theirs I've bought though there have been some good singles since then.

Both of these would be very high on my list - Simple Plan have better albums but it's my favourite Rise Against one. Audience Of One, Hero Of War, Savior all just incredible. 460 Black Cherry - Goldfrapp
Second highest entry for Goldfrapp on the list but really they are pretty much equal both close to top 40 of the year quality.'Black Cherry' was released in 2003 and reached #18 in the UK. 459 Send Away The Tigers - Manic Street PreachersAll these Manics albums a bit lower than I expected but I guess I am not as in to them as I once was. Send Away The Tigers probably my favourite Manics album outside of the 90's classics, and I love Black Cherry. Still sad we didn't get more songs from this in their Haven Factor run.

454 The Decline of British Sea Power - Sea Power
I thought I would have enjoyed this more but apart from the singles it didnt do much for me but yeh its still good but I doubt Ill listen to it again. This was their debut album and reached #54 in 2003.
453 Asleep In The Back - Elbow
This was much better , I actually liked it more than I expected, never bought or heard the full album as I own 3 of the singles. Another debut album it reached #14 in 2001.
